LATE NIGHTS
“That’s a hard hitting question, isn’t it?”
What do you believe in? There’s a lot of things Lysithea believes in - you know, aside from ghosts. She’s not going to mention that, because Dorothea doesn’t need to know that.
And yet, despite knowing exactly what she believes in, the mage finds it hard to put it into words. How could she? There were things that Dorothea would never know about Lysithea ( things she will never truly understand, from an outsider’s perspective ) and they were things that she simply wasn’t going to say out loud because it’s not easy to talk about, and trying to piece that together would be a mess, wouldn’t it?
And yet, at the same time, some like Dorothea would understand. An abolishment of nobility, an abolishment of walls between countries. It was the same type of goal, but different ways of doing it. In another life, maybe if Edelgard and Claude talked, they could have worked together. Yet, she wondered if the Emperor could walk a path that was not drenched in blood.
“I guess to put things simply, I believe in the things Edelgard believes in.”
In another life, maybe Lysithea could have joined them.
( but, it was too late to wonder about ‘what ifs’. )
