Twenty years ago Paris artist Da Cruz began painting the walls of his 19th Arrondissement home, transforming the area around the Ourcq canal. As others began painting alongside him, providing a means for exchange of ideas with other artists, he also became increasingly concerned with the erosion of "the authentic aspects of the area." In 2013 Da Cruz founded the @OurcqLivingColors festival, organized by @CulturesPasSages as part of the Paris Hip-Hop Festival, to strengthen the cultural interactions within the diverse community. In early 2017, between festivals, Da Cruz captured aspects of the community's diversity Da Cruz with "We The People" on Rue de L'Ourcq.  @dacruzgraffiti/
