Drew stands in front of the mirror with his razor in his hand. The shaving cream slides off as the blades cut through the tiny strands of hair. He places the head of the razor into the water to shake off the puffy white foam. He thinks nothing of the footsteps approaching the bathroom, thinking his wife is just coming to get something. Maybe she is getting the dirty laundry from the hamper. “What are you doing, Daddy?” a tiny voice calls out. The razor lowers from his face and he looks over to see Tristan. The boy’s shirt is slightly big and stained with red blotches from breakfast. His hair is brushed downwards by his mother. His eyes are wide with curiosity. Drew sets the shaving tool down on the counter, “I’m shaving, Tris.” “Why?” the inquisitive boy asks.

“It’s what daddies do to get rid of their beards.” 

“Can you teach me to shave, Daddy? Please.” 

Drew smiles at his son and nods. He picks up his son, placing him on the counter beside the sink. He holds up the can of shaving cream and a razor, “This is a razor. It has little knives at the top to cut the hair. This is shaving cream. It helps stop the small knives from cutting your skin. I’m going to put some cream on your face, but I’m not giving you a razor. I don’t want you to hurt yourself. Okay?” The young dirty blond nods. Drew looks around the room to see what they can use as a fake razor. His eyes land on Y/N’s jade roller and goes to get it. Once he hands it to his son, he squirts some foam into his hand and gives his son a little beard. He points to the little boy’s reflection in the mirror, causing Tristan to giggle at the sight. “I look like you now, Daddy!” he exclaims. Drew’s head bobs, “You do and a little like Santa.” The father turns toward the mirror again. He brings the razor back to his face, “Daddy is going to start at the top of the foam and slowly go down. Now, you try with your razor.” Drew watches as Tristan sets the roller on his face and rolls it down to his chin, bringing the white puff with it. “Like that Daddy?” Tristan seeks approval. “Yep and then you wash the razor off in the water and do it again,” he explains, demonstrating what he said. 

The boys repeat the task until all the bubbly substance is off their faces. Drew pats a little aftershave on the boy’s cheeks and chuckles at the look of satisfaction on his face. “Let’s go show, Mommy,” Drew suggests. He picks his son up and carries him to the living room where Y/N and Millie are watching TV. “Look, Mommy. I shaved,” Tristan cries for attention. “Wow, you look amazing. I have to say, your moustache was driving me crazy,” she jokes. Millie examines both their faces and untangles herself from he mother’s hold to run to her father. “I want to shave too!” she informs, reaching her arms up to be picked up. He takes her into his arms with her brother, “Of course, you can learn. To the bathroom.” He turns to head back to the bathroom with both of his children. A grin crosses his face when he hears his wife’s footsteps follow. “Don’t leave Mommy behind.”

the interview

Part 1

Drew Starkey x Female Reader

warnings: none!! fluff, slightly suggestive.

Y/N and Drew are in the back of the taxi which he politely ordered for them, sitting across each-other. Drew knew Y/N had anxiety and her leg can’t help but shake slightly with nerves. This would be her first press interview ever.

“Hey, you okay?” He asks and placed his hand on her leg softly over her skirt, helping to calm her shaking, not making a big deal out of the situation. “We will be there in no time, you are going to be amazing, i’m sure of it.” Drew promised, looking into Y/N’s eyes. She looked at him, before calming down; something about his touch was so soothing. “Yeah, i’m just nervous. But i’m sure i’ll be fine with you there.” Y/N replied calmly. “What’s it like? Being interviewed?”Drew smiles. “At first it’s weird, you aren’t sure how to answer questions sometimes. It sort of feels like being put on the spot, but it’s all part of being an actor.” He explained, wanting to help take some pressure off her as he could tell she was nervous. “After a few times it won’t be as weird anymore, trust me.. we will be fine, I know that.” Y/N smiled and nodded in appreciation of his gentle reassurance. “Thank you Drew.”

She looks out the taxi window to the busy streets of Downtown New York, before realising his hand was still resting on her leg.. she didn’t react physically of course but her heart and mind was racing at an unbelievable speed. “No worries.” Drew winked playfully, taking her hand from off her leg as he sets it on the window bar, he glanced over to see if she was okay. He didn’t want to make it awkward and all he wanted to do was comfort Y/N.. he’s also looking at her because she looks absolutely beautiful.. drawing his eyes away quickly before it was noticeable.

The taxi stops and they arrive at a reporters building, where their interview is. Although Drew had been in Outer Banks since season one, Y/N was joining him to do a dual interview seeing as she played the Drew’s character’s love interest.. essentially a main part in the show. “Is this the place” Y/N asked Drew as she stepped out the car after he insisted on holding the door open for her. Drew looked back at the building, slightly nervous now too. But he plastered a smile just for her. “Yeah, i think so.” He takes her hand softly, walking inside the building and heading to reception. Drew whispered to Y/N as a woman escorted them down a corridor. “You’ll be fine, the press will love you.” He’s a good friend and he knows how terrifying it can be in the limelight. Y/N returned a soft smile of gratitude before entering a small room where she and Drew shook hands with the Female Reporter and the Camera crew. Drew gives Y/N a professional nod as they sit in two chairs opposite the reporter, about to start live-streaming.

The reporter sits down, direct to them after hearing the command; “ACTION!” Y/N is happily giving the woman her full respect and attention, Drew admires this before doing the same.

“Drew, what is there to expect from your character, Rafe Cameron in season four of Outer Banks?” The woman shuffled her cards before listening to his response. Drew smiled, speaking as a natural. “I can promise you season four is going to be amazing. You are all definitely going to see me more in action, viewing Rafe at his best and his worst.. he certainly has some big choices to make and definitely some hard ones. For himself, and those who he loves.” Drew motioned to Y/N playfully, “A lot more action and drama, as if there wasn’t enough already.” The three of them chuckled at this. Nodding in agreement, the reporter turned to Y/N. “Y/N, as a new character how did you settle in with the cast? How was filming?” Y/N smiles and replied surprisingly with immediate confidence. “Working with the cast and filming crew has been such an honour, and i’ve made such great friends in the past few years of filming. The cast are like family to me already and we’re more than welcoming.” Drew smiles at her reply, he is more than happy she feels so comfortable and he knows how important it is to have the support of your friends and colleagues on set.

The reporter looked at both of them. “How did you find playing each others love interests, was it awkward?” Y/N giggled slightly before responding on her half, “I’ve loved working with Drew, honestly it was a dream. He’s so good at what he does and he makes everything fun, so nothing was ever awkward. I don’t think i could’ve done it with anyone else.” Drew chuckled, she was really doing well and it made him feel more at ease somehow. “I completely agree with Y/N, she’s so talented and definitely has her moments where she lights up the room.” Y/N blushes slightly before turning back to the reporter who has her next question ready.

“Will we be seeing buzzcut Rafe or curtain bangs Rafe this season?” They answer several more questions before the reporter was on the final two questions.“The fans want to know.. are you two a thing?”

The camera man looked in confusion at the reporter, seeing this question wasn’t on their set list. Y/N blushes profusely before smiling uncomfortably. “No.. just friends” she awkwardly replied. Drew feels quite awkward and doesn’t know how to answer this. “We’re just really good friends, nothing more.”

The reporter nodded. “Final question is selected by the viewers watching this live stream right now.. What’s each of your dream roles in a movie?”

Y/N smiles at the camera and waves cutely. “Hi everyone, thanks for your support!” Before turning back to the reporter, “I’d love to be in a marvel movie. I always loved the comics growing up.” Drew smiles. Y/N could definitely land a role in a marvel movie with that beauty and that body. “I can see that Y/N, As for me I would just love to be the lead in any sort of action movie, it’s really fun and i think i’m pretty good at it too. I would love to be in something like that.”

The reporter thanked them and Y/N and Drew are walking out to exit the building. “That was so much better than i thought it would go.” Y/N giggled as they walked out into main street. Drew shrugged, “That went pretty smoothly, i’m so proud of you.” Y/N blushes before Drew spoke and hugged her tightly with a friendly smile. “Do you want to celebrate your first interview success?”

Y/N felt a little flustered in his arms as she remembered a few weeks ago when he held her like this when they hooked up. It was like they never mentioned anything that happened.. friends with benefits with a full stop. “Sure , How were you thinking we celebrate?”

Drew pulled away, hands in pockets. “I thought we could have dinner and maybe some wine too.. or if you prefer we can just go to mine and watch a movie.. or we can go to town.. you choose. How does that sound?” He wants whatever she would like to do, and Y/N nodded, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. “Wine sounds nice.”

Best Way To Wake Up

Y/N wakes up to the babble of her one-year-old daughter over the baby monitor. She turns to see if her husband is asleep and decides to go to her child when she spots that his eyes are still closed. She knows she could wake Drew up to get the awake child, but she might as well go because she is awake. Upon approaching the crib, the baby girl begins to giggle at the sight of her mother. “There is my beautiful girl. Good morning,” Y/N gushes, leaning over the crib to pick up the wiggly baby. Millie’s arms flap in the air, “Mama.” The baby’s slobbery mouth smacks against her mother’s cheek to show her love. “Aww, thank you, my love,” Y/N thanks. “How about we get you changed for the day? What do you want to wear?” Y/N places different onesies on the changing table and holds Millie up to examine the choices. Millie picks a pink flowery onesie and Y/N gets it onto the small frame. The mother notices the shiver of her daughter, getting the blanket from the chair in the corner to wrap the baby up. She can hear the shuffle of her husband from the other room and smiles at her daughter, “Sounds like Daddy is waking up. Let's go see him.”

Waking up to an empty bed isn’t unusual for Drew, even before Millie was born. Y/N has always been a morning person, who loves getting things done in the morning, while Drew is known to spend his time in bed until late into the morning. He hears her speaking to their daughter in the other room and smiles. 

Millie nuzzles into her mother’s chest as she is being taken into the other room. Her eyes light up at her father. “Dada,” she screams, reaching out for the man. Drew grins and takes the girl into his arms, “Good morning, Mills. How did you sleep?” The little girl responds in her baby talk and Drew answers with hmms and haas to show he is listening. Once the girl tires herself out, she rests against her dad’s chest in a sleepy stupor. This allows Drew to turn his attention toward his wife. “Good morning to you too, Sweetheart. And how did my wonderful wife sleep?” Y/N flashes her teeth at him and settles beside him, resting her head on his shoulder. “It was amazing. Very peaceful. How about you?” she tells him. Drew kisses his temple, “Spectacular, but I think I prefer the view I get to wake up to more.” Y/N’s head nods against his skin. “I think I prefer waking up this way too.”

It's All Fun And Games

Drew knows that going out in public can be a little boring for his kids, especially since they aren’t allowed screens or toys when they do. So, Drew’s solution is to create games for them. Y/N’s hand is in Millie’s while Drew holds Tristan’s. The family approaches the elevator, which causes the children to release themselves from their parents’ hold. Each child runs to a different elevator and grins at their father once they are ready. “Three. Two. One,” Drew counts down before pressing the down button to call the elevator. They wait for a few seconds and the ding notifies them that they will soon be entering the metal contraption. The doors in front of Millie open and she lets out a cheer. “Congrats, Mills,” Drew congratulation, ushering his family into the elevator. Miller runs to the console and presses the button that Drew shows her. Tristan looks at his sister with a hint of jealousy, “I’m going to win next time.” Drew gives his son a soft smile and picks his son up. “I’m sure you will win the elevator game next time, Tris.”

Y/N needed some time by herself and Drew could sense that, so he took the kids out to get some ice cream. As he watches his children munch on their ice cream, an elderly lady walks by and sits a few tables down from them. The bag she is carrying almost rivals her size and he points it out to his kids. He leans in closer to his kids, “What do we think is in her bag?” Understanding what their father is doing, their faces light up. “I think she has lots and lots of candy in her bag that she likes to share with little kids,” Millie responds. Tristan thinks about it for a second, “She has many bouncy balls.” Drew chuckles at their responses. “And what would she do with all of the bouncy balls? Millie says she likes to share the candy, so what’s the story behind the bouncy balls?” Drew provokes. Tristan answers immediately, “Because she is a super secret spy, who uses balls to put people to sleep.” “That is a very interesting story,” Drew says. The What’s in the Bag game is one of Drew’s favourites because it shows his children’s imagination.

The last game drives Y/N crazy, but she secretly loves it. The family is running errands at Target when the kids grow tired of the shopping. Drew can see this, so he pulls out the stickers he keeps in his wallet. He hands Millie the sheet with purple hearts, Tristan the one with pink hearts and keeps the orange hearts for himself. He starts off the game by patting his wife on the back while kissing her on the cheek. She doesn’t feel the press of the sticker onto her shirt. The next sticker that finds its way onto Y/N is given by Tristan, who pretends that he wants to be picked up by his mother. He risks placing it onto her shoulder as she picks him up. Millie gets one onto Y/N’s knee when the daughter is playing between the mother’s legs. The game comes to an end because of Drew. He tries the same tactic again; however, this time, he tries pressing it against the hem of her t-shirt sleeve. Y/N separates their lips at the feel of the sticky substance of the sticker on her arm. Drew had missed her shirt. She looks at her husband and then at her children’s wide grin. 

She pieces the puzzle together and unravels herself from her husband's hold. “Seriously, My Love? I thought I took all your stickers,” she questions. He gives her a sheepish smile, “You did, except you forgot that I have my own credit card.” She shakes her head with slight annoyance. “I married a child. I hate these games,” she mumbles as she picks off all the stickers her family has put on her. Drew pouts and nears her with his lips, “Come on, Sweetheart. It’s all fun and games.”

Care For Each Other

Tristan is such a sweet little boy. The three-year-old boy may be younger than his sister, but he likes to act like the older brother sometimes. This Halloween, Drew has to take the kids out trick or treating by himself. Y/N is pregnant with their third child and she can’t stand for very long. Millie is dressed as Sarah Cameron during Midsummer. She has never seen the show, but the pictures she has seen of her godmother made her want to be just like her. Tristan chose to be the family car, not one from any movie. Drew watches from the sidewalk as the two of them say the famous Halloween jingle. The owner of the house places the candy in their baskets and the kids make their way back to their dad. Tristan sees his sister having a hard time walking down the stairs in her long dress and holds out his hand to help her down. They return to their father still holding hands. 

They go around the neighbourhood, receiving candy from different people until the siblings get tired of walking. Before they go into the house, they drive to the store to get Y/N some chips and the kids can get some discount Halloween things. They get back home and Y/N is already asleep, so Drew sorts through the candy to make sure they are safe for the kids. Once the candy is sorted, Tristan and Millie look over at the haul. “Aww, I didn’t get any KitKats,” Millie whines, looking at all the treats she got with not a single red and white wrapper in sight. Tristan goes through his stash and picks out certain ones. He finishes what he is doing, running over to his sister. He places all of his KitKats in his sister’s pile. “For you, Sissy,” he informs her with a hug. She beams at her new chocolates and hugs her brother back. “Thank you!” she yells. “You can have my Twix because you like them.” Drew watches the scene with a smile. He knows that if anything happens to Y/N and him, he feels safe knowing that his kids will take care of each other.

Gift Wrapping Fail

Summary: Now, with a daughter, Y/N and Drew realized that their gift-wrapping skills need to be improved.

Y/N and Drew have been dating for years and in those years, any gift given between them was either horribly wrapped or given in a gift bag. It is no secret they aren’t great at embellishing gifts in paper, but with Millie now in their lives, they want to get better at the task to help give her picture-perfect holidays. After all, Santa Claus should be a master at gift wrapping. So the new parents set out to learn this skill for their daughter. At first, they try to do it without any help from the internet. “Okay. What do I do with the end parts?” Y/N asks Drew, who is also having the same problem. He shrugs, “I don’t know. There is so much of it.” She examines the paper for a second before folding the pieces into a triangle and then folding it upward onto the back of the box. Waves form in the paper so it isn’t taught and the sides of the box still have paper that overflows on the side. She sighs in discontent at the appearance. Drew holds up his box, which is also a disaster. “Maybe we should watch a video,” she suggests. Drew nods and pulls out his phone to look for one.

About thirty minutes later, Y/N is stuck in the wrapping paper and Drew has tape stuck in his hair. They didn’t know it was possible to be that bad at something for this to be the end result. Drew helps untangle her from the paper and she gets up to remove the tape from his hair. “Ow. Ow. Ow,” he complains as she pulls the tape off. She giggles, “Stop being a baby. We wouldn’t have this problem if you kept your hair away from the tape.” “You and I both know we have no idea how I got like this. But I think we can both agree that since Millie is only turning a year old, she won’t remember if her gifts are in bags,” he states. Y/N’s head flicks up and down, “Agreed. So we have more time to learn until she can actually remember or… We could just ask my mom to do it. She did say she missed bringing the Christmas magic to life.” “She did say that. I think this sounds like a solid plan. How about we go wake up Millie from her nap?” he questions. Y/N darts up from the floor running to her daughter’s room to be the first one Millie sees when she wakes up. Drew chuckles as he runs after her, “No fair! I want to wake her up.”

Hiii I love your writing so much! I was wondering if you could maybe write something where Drew and the reader moms have been friends since college only causing for the reader, Drew and his siblings to be close due to growing up side by side in Drew’s hometown.

Drew and the reader have been together for a while and they have a little girl together (around 3 or 4 years old) They return to their hometown to celebrate Christmas with their families all together opening gifts, eating Christmas lunch and things like that just loads of fluff between Drew and his daughter the reader and the family.

Magic Snow Globe

A/N: Surprise! This wasn't on the schedule so it is my Christmas gift to you guys. This is separate from my dad!Drew series.

Masterlist

Drew watches as Grace examines her father’s childhood bedroom. This isn’t the first time she has been in it, but it feels like the first time because her consciousness is now able to form memories. Her eyes catch the snow globe sitting on the desk and she runs to it. She glances at her father for approval and he nods for her to pick it up. Once the trinket is in her hands, Drew picks the small girl up and places her on his lap as he sits on the bed. “Do you want to know where Daddy got this from?” he asks the three-year-old. Her head vigorously moves up and down. He takes the orb into his hands, turning it over to wind the key at the bottom. The melody of “Silent Night” plays as he begins his story. “Your mommy gave it to me. When we were in middle school…”

Drew loved Christmas time. It meant that he got to spend the Winter break with the Y/L/Ns. This year, they were exploring a little Christmas village that Y/N’s mom found. The hour and a half drive was long, yet worth it once they saw the picture-esque shops covered in snow. Y/N and Drew were old enough to be allowed to go off by themselves and it was exciting for the pair. Drew’s eyes drank in everything and he adored everything about this town. The Christmas music. The small town architecture. The smell of gingerbread cookies in the air. It all brought the holiday to life for him. “God, I wish I could stay in this place forever,” he thought to himself out loud. She caught his words and wanted to make that dream come true. She excused herself for a minute, remembering something she saw inside of a store. She came running back with her hand behind her back and a wide grin on her face. 

“Close your eyes and hold your hands out,” she ordered. He was confused but obeyed her words. His eyebrows met at a point when he heard the familiar tune of “Silent Night”. A weight fell into his hands and his eyelids pulled apart. In his hands was a snow globe. Inside the glass, there was a red-bricked house with a green wreath on the black door. The roof was covered in glittery white snow and more sparkles floated through the water as he moved the orb around in his hands. “Why are you giving me this?” he questioned. She shrugged with a smile, “We can’t exactly stay here forever, so I thought that being able to bring a little piece of it with you would be just as good.” Drew didn’t feel like he needed his jacket anymore because her gesture warmed him up to be burning hot. He knew this was the moment he realized he had fallen in love with the girl who would do anything to make his dreams come true.

“And Mommy really did do everything she could to make my dreams come true. She’s the reason why I have an amazing wife, a successful career as an actor, and the most spectacular baby girl in the world,” he recounts. He lifts his daughter into the air and attacks her with kisses. She giggles at the feeling of his lips on her cheeks. He sits back down with her in his lap. He notices she is clinging to the snow globe like her life depends on it. “Auntie Brooke just got in. Come say hello, you two,” Y/N instructs her family. Grace nods and hops off of her father’s lap. She carefully places the symbol of her parents' love on the desk and runs downstairs to greet her aunt.

Christmas day, Y/N’s head rests on her husband's chest as everyone watches Grace and her cousins unwrap gifts. The adults love to drink in the Christmas magic coming to life for the kids. Y/N’s nephew places Grace’s next gift onto her lap and her parents watch as she tears apart the paper. Her face lights up at the snow globe she finds. She wobbles a little as her feet plant on the ground and she stands up. She makes her way to Y/N and Drew. Her mother pulls her into the adults’ hold. “Thank you for the snow globe, Daddy,” she says, kissing his cheek. Drew smoothes back her hair, “You’re welcome, Gracie. This is a promise that Daddy is going to do everything he can to help you achieve your dreams.” Grace snuggles into her father’s chest at the promise before going back to opening presents. Drew notices his wife’s gaze and kisses her on the lips. “I guess I’m going to need to get you another snow globe. We wouldn’t want our other baby to feel like their dreams aren’t going to come true,” she whispers to her husband. Drew’s eyebrows furrow for a second and then he fully comprehends her words.

A giant grin crosses his face as he rests a warm hand on her stomach. “I can’t wait for our little family to grow. I can’t believe that I keep having my dreams come true because of you. Having an amazing family with you will always be my biggest dream.” Drew should thank that snow globe because it must have some dream-giving magic.
