You had been in Edwin and Emily’s life for a year now. Ever since the little girl ran over to you because she lost her dad in the mall. After going on many dates with the boy, he asked you to be his girlfriend. Then after a few months in, he asked you to move in with him. This was going to be the first year spending Christmas season with your two favorite people in the world. You couldn’t spend Christmas with them last year because your family wanted you to stay.
“Em, do you wanna bake cookies?” You yelled out to the girl who in her room. Not even 30 seconds later, she ran downstairs to the kitchen. “Yes please!” You chuckled giving her a kiss on the head. Edwin was at the studio with the boys which just left you and Emily to do what you wanted. You put on Christmas music and began making the cookies. You rolled out the dough and let Emily make difference shapes with the holiday cookie cutters.
“Okay, we have to place them into the refrigerator so that when they bake it will stay in shape,” she nodded at your words and pulled you to the living room. “While the cookies are in the fridge, can we watch a movie?” You asked with a yes and let her pull you to the couch. The movie she picked was Home Alone, which you didn’t mind at all. You had your arms around her and she leaned her curly head on your chest. Truly, Emily was spinning imagine of Edwin and had his attitude traits too.
Edwin didn’t hear anything as he walked into the house and that wasn’t really normal. “I’m home loves,” he frowned upon not hearing the small footsteps of his daughter or your laughter. He walks around the corner and sees the both of you laying down on the couch cuddling. Emily’s face was nuzzled into your neck and your head rested on her head. Edwin broke into a smile quickly snapping a picture of you two before gently shaking you guys awake.
“Ed? I thought you were gonna be home later,” you whispered. “No, we got done early and I couldn’t wait to see my favorite girls,” he kissed your cheek with a low chuckle. You rubbed Emily’s back to wake her and in no time the little girl turned over with her eyes open.
“Hey bubs, papi is home,” she turns around and locks eyes with Edwin and throws her arms around him. “Hi, princesa. I missed you and y/n while I was in the studio,” squeezing Emily tighter, making her giggle. You smiled at the two and got up to go to the kitchen.
“Where you going mamas?” Edwin looked in your direction. “I’m going to put the cookies in the oven. Me and Em premade cookies,” you replied to him. Emily unwrapped her arms from Edwin and walked over to you to help. “Wow, so both of my girls are leaving?” Edwin fakes a pout. “Come on then papi !” Emily waves him over and all three of you head to the kitchen.

You, Emily and Edwin had gotten on a plane to New York a week ago. Today was Christmas Day already and you had a surprise waiting for you that you had no idea of. Emily opens the door to the room and jumps on the bed.
“Wake up! It’s Christmas,” she bounces on the bed waking up you two. You rubbed your eyes and gave her a loopy smile. Edwin’s mom picked Emily up and chuckled lightly. “Let’s go into the living room and leave them to actually wake up,” Emily nodded her head and waved at you. You blew a kiss to her and once the door was closed you turned your head to your lover.
“Babyy, it’s Christmas,” you kiss Edwin’s face making him smile. “Mm merry christmas mi amor,” he kissed you. “Em’s waiting for us,” you get up and pulling Edwin in the process.
The whole family was wearing matching pajamas because Edwin suggested it. Everyone was sitting in the living waiting for you guys to come out.
“Finally! Now we can start,” Emily exclaimed. You and Edwin sat down on the couch and Emily sits in your lap. Edwin threw a smile in your direction and you gave him a wink.
All the gifts had been opened by now but everyone in the room started smiling. You thought it was a little weird, so you shook it off and decided to not think into it.
“We have one more gift for you my love,” Edwin’s voice rang and you gave him a confused look. Emily got off your lap to get a small box and she handed it to you but was hesitate about it not knowing how you would feel. “Thank you baby,” you kissed her cheek.
“So, it’s not a secret how much you care for me and Em. You’d do anything for me and her and I love you for that. You’ve been in our life for two years now and you’re so good to us,” Edwin was starting to get choked up because you have never once left their side. “Emily’s mom left after she was born but upon meeting you when she was 3 years old, you treated her as your own. We both love you very much,” Edwin kisses the top of your head and you opened the box.
Inside the box was papers and you took a second to read the writing on the papers. Your eyes watered and you looked to Emily who couldn’t contain her smile. “Will you adopt me and become my official mommy?” You were quick to gently place your hands on her cheeks and replied with yes. The curly headed girl wrapped her arms around you and pulled you into a hug.
“Baby, everyone has a mom but not everyone has a mother. You have been Emily’s mother since day one and I couldn’t be more grateful,” Edwin said before wrapping his arms around the two of you.
