Summary: Hobi’s second daughter, Haeju, is very interested in becoming a trainee, so he takes her to the studio to show her the real life of a trainee.
“Cho! Look at my outfit!” Hyeon exclaimed, skipping out of the studio.
“What’s the occasion?” Chohui asked as she looked Hyeon up and down. The younger girl was wearing a sundress.
“My Appa and I are going out to the beach for one of the music video shoots.” Hyeon bent down slightly to meet the eye of the toddler Chohui was holding. “Hi, Dal.”
Dal grinned at her before burying his face in Chohui’s neck.
“Why are you here?” Hyeon asked, straightening back up.
“Haeju wants to be a trainee, so Appa is showing her around the place and showing her what being a trainee is like. Eomma had a doctor’s appointment, so I have to watch Dal and Hyemi.”
“How much longer until the baby is born?”
Chohui shrugged. “I don’t even know what day it is anymore.”
Hyeon laughed. “Hey, where is Hyemi?”
“Uncle Yoongi was taking Valentine to get snacks and she wanted to go with them.”
Hyeon nodded and pulled her phone out of her pocket as it buzzed. “Oh! I have to go! See you later!” Then she ran off down the hall.
◇◆◇◆◇
“Cho! Look! Uncle Yoonie got me a bag of gummy worms!” Hyemi exclaimed as she ran down the hall.
“Oh, really? That’s cool!” Chohui set Dal down on the ground, and he immediately protested by starting to cry.
“Dal, you want a gummy?” Hyemi asked, offering her little brother one of her snacks.
“We should go find Appa. I’m sure they’re almost done, and Eomma should be home soon.”
“Ok!” Hyemi ran off in the direction of the elevator.
“Hyemi, wait!” Chohui picked Dal up and ran after her little sister.
◇◆◇◆◇
“That was so much fun!” Haeju exclaimed as she followed Hobi out of the practice room. They were both drenched in sweat, but neither of them minded.
“We’re going to have to come up with some new hairstyles for your hair if you do this everyday.”
Hobi laughed as he pulled a strand of her wet hair off her cheek. It just barely reached her chin. She huffed and pushed all of her hair behind her ears.
“It’s too short to put up in a ponytail. I’ll just leave it.”
“If you say so. Now, should we go find your siblings?”
“Yeah! What are we getting for dinner?” She asked as they headed down the hall.
“We could get something from the food court when we get back home,” Hobi offered.
“Ooo! Can we get some of the fish cakes?”
“Only if you share them with your sisters.”
Haeju groaned. “But Hyemi always eats all of them!”
Hobi laughed. “Ok, we’ll get extras.”
“And we can get dumplings?”
“Of course we’re getting dumplings, silly.”
Haeju grinned as she pressed the elevator button. Not even a moment later, the doors opened and Hyemi catapulted out of the elevator, running straight into Hobi.
“Goodness, Hyemi! Watch where you’re going!”
Hyemi proudly held her bag of fruit snacks up. “Look! Uncle Yoonie buyed me gummy worms!”
“It’s bought, Hyemi.” Chohui and Haeju said in unison, both tired of the way she purposely misspoke.
Hyemi grinned, and Hobi shook his head.
“Should we head home now? Eomma should be getting home soon, and we can grab some dinner from the food court,” Hobi suggested.
“Yeah! I want fish cakes!” Hyemi squealed as she jumped up and down.
“All right. Let’s go!”
◇◆◇◆◇
“Eomma! We got dinner!” Hyemi exclaimed as soon as Hobi opened their door.
“You got fish cakes, right?” Yuna asked.
“Yeah. Appa got three boxes this time,” Haeju informed her.
Hobi set down the bags of food on the counter. “Ok, who’s hungry?”
◇◆◇◆◇
“No! Don’t want Cho!” Dal whined as Chohui tried to tuck him into bed. “Want Appa!”
Chohui sighed. “Fine. I’ll go get him.”
A few minutes later, Hobi entered the room.
“Appa!” Dal grinned as he held his arms up.
Hobi smiled and scooped the little boy up. “Are you ready for bed?”
“No! Don’ wanna sleep.”
“All right. Should we read a book?”
“Prince book!”
“You wanna read the prince book?”
Dal nodded. “Yeah!”
Hobi pulled the book off the little bookshelf next to Dal’s bed and sat on the bed, seating Dal in his lap. Dal cuddled into Hobi’s chest as Hobi flipped the book open and cleared his throat.
“Once upon a time, there lived a little prince and his pet bunny.”
◇◆◇◆◇
“‘Fluffles is worth more than that!,’ the prince cried. ‘He’s worth more than all the gold you could give me!’”
Hobi glanced down, finding Dal sound asleep with his nose buried in Hobi’s shirt. Hobi shut the book and set it on top of the bookshelf.
“Goodnight, Dal.” Hobi kissed Dal’s forehead before gently laying the tiny boy under the covers. “I’ll see you in the morning.”
Hobi tiptoed out of the room, slowly closing the door behind him so he didn’t make much noise. Then he headed out to the kitchen.
“Seok, I was thinking we should buy some new clothes before Jangmi is born. I still have some of the girls’ clothes, but I got rid of most of it years ago because I though Dal would be our last,” Yuna sighed as she zipped Hyemi’s lunchbox shut.
“What, we can’t use Dal’s?” Hobi teased.
“We could. I just think we should get her some clothes. I mean, if things go as planned, she’ll be our last one. What’s the harm in going shopping for baby clothes one last time?”
“I think it’s a great idea. Would you like to take the girls shopping this weekend? I’m sure Dal would love to come to the dance studio with me.”
Yuna grinned. “Really?”
Hobi nodded. He reached up and wrapped his arms around her waist before kissing the crown of her head. “You sure you don’t want to keep going and make a football team?”
Yuna laughed. “No, thank you. Five kids is plenty enough.”
