Just wanted to touch base with you all about HBDTNOFetc.
I’m thinking of taking a small hiatus (we’re talking like 2 weeks at max,) to edit each existing chapter of the fic, and then reuploading them to AO3. In the midsts of doing that, I won’t be adding any new chapters, but I will be writing them!
This will not only give me time to recuperate the story, but also plan for the ending, which is like…potentially within reach? We’re not there yet but I can see her, y’know.
But do not fret! This isn’t the end, because this fic isn’t about Neil learning to live with a new situation, it’s about getting him out of the current one. So that means there absolutely will be a sequel, which is exciting! (I think, I mean you guys let me know what you want.)
Please, if you guys have any thoughts or opinions, do let me know. The reason I’m doing a big edit is not only to help narrow down the coherency of the story, but also because I’ve just finished annotating the audio commentary done by Peter Weir and co on the movie, and their take on Keating differs from mine slightly, and while that’s totally fine, some of their points actually make like…a lot of sense, and I want to edit those in.
And these edits won’t be massive, they’re just characterisations, a few bits of dialogue, editing in a few more historical accuracies, the overall story will be staying exactly the same, so if you don’t want to reread you absolutely won’t have too!

Thank you guys for being so patient with me. I know the last chapter sort of flopped, which is understandable because it was boring legal drama, but it is completely vital to the plot. But I really hope you guys are still enjoying the story <3
