"There’s a place for you in my heart, where you’ll always be safe." — r.s
Cradling his tiny bundle of a human being against his chest, Law realizes he has never felt a love like this.
He's received love from his family, a long time ago. Two gentle hands on his shoulders, squeezing fondly at his achievements, a smaller hand holding into his fluffy hat, fixing it for him. Later on, a clumsy yet firm hold onto his hands, twirling him carelessly in the air.
He then met your touch on his skin, cupping his scowling face and gliding over his features, two gentle thumbs softening the frown of his eyebrows. This chubby little version of himself is as stubborn as you are, making sure he doesn't forget for a day how much he's loved, needed.
She giggles sweetly in her dreams, the sleepy sound tugging painfully at his heartstrings. Her funny legs gently kick his arm, and if it makes him smile, that's a secret shared between his daughter and the moon.
He's watching her attentively, golden eyes careful to check everything is alright when she starts stirring in her sleep, squirming in her daddy's arms. Law frowns, scoffing a quiet, "Little brat, go back to sleep," as her face scrunches in a gesture that resembles you too much, and it's yet another wall surrounding his heart melting away, as easy as that. It's a pattern, he notices with a sigh. He firmly believes she got that from you.
She stops her distressed movements when he shushes her, slowly, awkwardly swaying her side to side. "Why're you making that face? Your dad's right here," he whispers carefully, a touch more softer than he normally would.
He swears she knows of his soft spot for cute things, because he's not strong enough to hold back the urge to kiss her round cheeks, so he does just that. "No one's going to harm you," he whispers, icy heart melting at her drowsy sigh.
Law wants to make his baby feel safe, and when chubby fingers clutch tightly onto his shirt, he thinks he might just be able to.
