When Thrawn and Maya’s twins were born Thrawn wasn’t there for the birth. He was still working for the empire when Maya gave birth to Thrayn and Thrass in the Ascendancy. Thrawn knew she was pregnant before she and Eli left but that’s all as she was only 8 weeks when she left. And because Thrawn couldn’t contact her after she went to the ascendancy it was a while before he knew she gave birth and to two boys no less. It was years before he even got to meet the boys. One day when Thrawn still worked for the Empire, he woke up and noticed grey hairs starting to appear in his hair. He saw it and it immediately made him swell up with pride. It also felt bittersweet because he didn’t even know what his child/children looked like. He didn’t even know if they were a boy or a girl. What he did know because of those grey hairs was that they were safe and they were going to bring honor to the Ascendancy. When Thrawn eventually rejoins the Ascendancy he and Maya welcome a girl and he takes a small break from working and spends almost the entire pregnancy with Maya. He was sad he missed the milestones of the boys’ pregnancy and was not going to miss this one too. He was there for the birth and was over the moon when he found out they now had a little girl named Thaera. Although he loves the boys Thrawn had always wanted a girl and made it no secret that he did. When Thrawn gets back to the Expansionary Fleet he loves showing off his grey hairs. He was like “yea my offspring are badasses.” He loves getting the chance to show off his kids and their accomplishments with its Thrayn in the Syndic, Thrass in the Expansionary Fleet, or Thaera at her art gallery. He actually really enjoys being a dad. He is dangerously protective of his family. Like we all know how protective he is of the Ascendancy but with his kids he will make normal war crimes he does look like child’s play. Especially with Thaera cause she is a daddy’s girl.
