I had this idea awhile ago but just keep forgetting to send it in but with the arrival of dead beat dad magneto au it has turned into something so much better. Brainstorm or some other x-men villain happens and oh fuck, fearless has reverted to a toddler now. Bonus points if baby fearless is a bit of a scaredy cat. Que all the awkwardness because as far as tiny fearless is concerned, the only one they recognize is their dad, their dad they love so much and want to be just like when they grow up. Magneto now sees the stark difference of a Fearless that doesn't even want to look at him to his little kid who thought the world of him and now has to deal with complicated feelings. Megatrons not happy because last time he checked he's the father and now his kid is playing house with this douche. The lost light in general just doesn't like this. Because now their tiny little human friend is even smaller, doesn't recognize them, and is clinging to the guy who in their culture, basically violated the 11th of the 10 commandments. The x men are loving it, absolutely using baby fearless to rub salt on magentos wound.
Magneto - hmm… we need to get groceries soon. Is there anything else were out of
Logan - I'd ask for milk but we actually need you to come back.

Dadneto AU: Toddler Fearless

The were few leads in finding out who wanted Fearless unalived.
One of those leads had led the X-men into finding some sort of ray gun.
It was found in one of the brotherhood of evil’s old lairs.
The ray gun looked suspicious enough to bring back to the lab for further investigation.
Both science teams had taken a particular interest in it and were trying to figure out what it did.
Fearless, having the best and worst timing, had decided to come into the lab to get the mutant team out for lunch.
They only made one foot in before that ray gun suddenly fired and hit them square in the chest.
Just a bundle of clothing was left.
Beast and holoform Brainstorm: “Fearless!”
Holoform Perceptor and Nautica quickly shut down the gun with Forge.
The sounds of the ray going off had attracted the attention of other mutants and holoformed bots.
Magneto, Whirl, Megatron and Rodimus show up.
Magneto and Megatron: “What happened?!”
Megatron makes a bit of a face at Magneto.
He can’t believe he synced with this man.
Perceptor: “The ray gun went off and hit Fearless.”
Brainstorm and Beast were shielding the others from Fearless clothing.
Megatron: “And? Where are they now?”
Brainstorm chuckles nervously.
Brainstorm: “Well, there’s good news and bad news.”
Nautica takes a peak and gasps.
Brainstorm: “The bad news is that the ray gun may have changed Fearless a bit.”
Whirl: “What do you mean a bit!”
Rodimus: “And the good news?”
Beast and Brainstorm part to show a toddler wearing Fearless’s shirt like a dress.
Brainstorm: “They look adorable!”
The child looked terrified.
Forge: “A de aging ray then?”
Fearless: “PA!”
The tiny toddler trips a bit from the oversized clothing and runs.
Megatron instinctively kneels down and has his arms open for the toddler.
…Only for Fearless to completely ignore him and run straight into Magneto’s legs.
Hugging them tightly.
Fearless: “PA!”
Magneto is stiff as the toddler shakes and clutches him.
Everyone in the room: “…”
Perceptor: “…Perhaps it changed a bit more than just age…”
Whirl: “You think!?”
The ray gun had indeed changed much more than Fearless’s age, but also their memories.
The child would not remember any of the bots or their adventures out in space.
Even their trademark ‘fearless’ personality had changed.
No more was the daring liaison of the Lost Light.
Instead, was a toddler that seemed to be afraid of their own shadow.
While they were in fact very cute, the bots did not like this at all.
Fearless did not want anything to do with them.
They would either stare at them in utter fear, hide, or worse start screaming and crying.
Not even their holoforms offered any sort of comfort.
Rodimus is on his knees trying to get Fearless to warm up to him.
Rodimus: “Hey there buddy, how’s it going?”
The toddler just stares at him in fear.
Not the reaction he was going for.
Rodimus: “Hey do you want to play a game? We can play any game you want—and their leaving…”
Rodimus sighs tiredly as the toddler runs back inside.
Later…
Whirl is in his holoform in front of Fearless.
Whirl: “C’mon Fearless, I know a bit of the old you is still in there.”
Fearless: “That’s not my name!”
Whirl: “It is!”
Fearless just runs hearing the slight raise in tone.
Cyclonus and Tailgate appear beside him.
Tailgate: “They’ll come around eventually.”
Cyclonus: “Even if they have no recollection of any one.”
Tailgate: “Cyclonus! Not helping!”
Even later…
Megatron is crouching to Fearless’s level.
The toddler clutching a blanket for dear life.
Megatron: “Please dear, its me. Don’t you remember me?”
Fearless whimpers a bit as Megatron attempted to pat their head.
Megatron retracted his hand.
Those eyes…
The same eyes that had once looked at him with such love and joy.
The same eyes now sharing the haunted look most humans gave him before terminating them.
Megatron stands up.
Megatron: “My apologize Fearless—”
Fearless: “Who Fearless? Everyone one keeps calling me that! That’s not my name!”
Megatron hated this.
It was almost like mourning for someone, but they were still there.
Still there but not the same.
More bad news came up once the science team had to explain that the effects of the ray gun would wear off, but there was no telling when it would.
The team still promised to try and find an alternative cure, but at this rate, there wasn’t much anyone could do.
Toddler Fearless did start warming up to the X men but still stayed far away from the bots as possible.
Rouge is looking through the fridge with Fearless close by.
Fearless: “Oatmeal?”
Rouge: “In a minute suga.”
Gambit peaks at the fridge too.
Gambit: “We need groceries.”
Magneto: “Alright then, lets make a list. What do we need?”
Logan walking passing by: “I’d say milk but we need you here this time.”
The poor toddler is so confused when everyone starts laughing while their dad facepalms.
The bots were not the only ones facing hardships.
Magneto was facing horrible realizations and unwanted memories and ‘what if’ scenarios.
Not only was the mutant just as surprised as everyone else when Fearless hugged him, but the child rarely ever left his side.
A stark contrast with normal Fearless who would (and has) jumped out of windows just to avoid him.
The toddler looked at him as if he hung the stars and moon in the sky.
How did he miss these looks of joy and happiness when he still had them?
Was Magneto that stuck in his own head to not realize what he had in front of him?
Did he truly care that they were not a mutant enough to ignore this sweet child?
Magneto is sitting down nursing a cup of coffee.
The familiar pitter patter of feet reaches his ear.
Fearless is holding a juice box in both their hands.
They tilt their head in confusion.
Fearless: “Pa?”
They skip to the seat next to him and struggle to get on it.
Magneto helped them sit properly.
How did he miss how small they were?
Fearless copies Magneto’s hands and ‘nurse’ their juice box.
Magneto: “My little Lionheart, I have a question for you.”
The toddler perked up.
Fearless: “Yeah?”
Magneto is struggling to word the question.
Magneto: “I… We need…What I am trying to say is…”
Fearless looks even more confused.
Magneto sighs.
Magneto: “I’ll explain later.”
Fearless nods before taking a quick sip from their juice box.
Fearless: “Pa, when will my powers come in?”
Magneto: “I… I am not sure.”
Fearless: “Oh… well when are we going to the fair? You said we can go.”
Magneto nearly chokes on his coffee.
That little question just confirmed to him when and what age Fearless was…
i was listening to i bet on losing dogs by mitski and that made me think of ‘my child lebensborn’
and now it’s making me think of a dadneto au for it ☹️
oh damn adoptive dad Erik Lehnsherr taking care of a german born child after WW2 😭😭😭
lets say Erik was just starting out on his nazi-hunting lifestyle until he found a crying baby in an alleyway in Norway
natural-born father that he is (despite having less than great relationships with his actual children 😭) he takes the baby in and decides to raise it by himself forgetting about whatever he was planning to do with himself
his priorities change immediately lmao
he settles down in Norway with his new daughter (he’s a girl-dad of course i’m making it karin, i also chose that route for myself anyway)
once Karin is a bit older she starts asking about her birth parents, so Erik does some research and finds out that she is “lebensborn” with her birth father being a german soilder
and then we get to where the actual story from the game plays out with Karin going to school and Erik working in the town’s factory earning minimum wage for just enough to get food on the table
Erik and Karin try to visit her birth mother but that doesn’t end up going very well with her and Erik fighting and Karin getting upset
i haven’t played this game in a while but basically Karin starts getting bullied and ostracized at school and her teacher starts SA’ing her
stuff just starts going downhill for both Karin and Erik and it all just sucks
the factory shut down so Erik can barely even afford food and Karin spends less and less time at home to the point of her not even showing up one night
i genuinely don’t remember what else happens in this game help
anyway i’m giving them a happy ending with Erik killing the teacher and them running away to America or something idk
it’s very possible we could swap Karin with any of Erik’s actual daughters but that would involve changing their entire backstories

Ophelia having a very long list of reasons why Megatron could have abandoned her and having to add “simply didn't want me????” to the bottom of the list because simply because of the culture it's not something she ever would have considered.
When the confrontation happens and Ophelia chimes in “YOU ABANDONED THEM BECAUSE THEY WEREN’T AN OUTLIER!”
And the rest of them are just shocked because this problem just never happened. Abandoning your child? You can just do that?? Abandoning your child because they fit in with the rest of society??? THIS GUYS FUCKING CRAZY!!!!
In a nutshell...
Given in the Dadneto AU, Ophelia and Fearless have been sharing Megatron since the begining.
Ophelia is also one of the first to know about Magneto being Fearless's father.
She doesn't say anything to anyone because Fearless told them not to.
It is on sight the moment Ophelia sees Magneto try to touch Fearless.
It does not matter that Magento has flung her multiple times, DO NOT TOUCH HER SIBLING YOU MONSTER!
Actively gives him the stink eye and scoops Fearless up when his name is even spoken.
I'm just putting this little idea here until I finally come around to do it... some day.
I set you the stage.
This is MTMTE Fearless in the Dadneto AU
As we know, if we have the x men, we have the Avengers, and if we have the Avengers, we have their villains.
...
Imagine Fearless and the Lost Light are finally setting off back into space. Fearless is happy to finally get off of Earth and to go back to the stars with their family.
There is lively chatter in the air.
Bots are happy.
Fearless is happily sitting on Megatron's shoulder while listening to Whirl on the com line ask if they wanted to join tailgate and Cyclonus in a double sing along for some free drinks.
Then there is a sudden shift in the air.
Something had just happened.
Something very wrong had just happened...
Next thing Fearless knows Megatron suddenly disappears in a cloud of dust, sending them freefalling to the console, breaking both their legs in the process.
Suddenly one by one, in mere seconds, every bot on the ship turned into dust.
Fearless doesn't know what just happened as the ship starts to descend rather quickly to the planet below. They couldn't do anything with their legs compromised and brace for impact.
The ship was about to crash into the planet bellow.
Until it suddenly stops the fast decent.
Slowly and eventually, the ship was placed on the grounds of the school.
A famialiar Bamf! happens behind Fearless and another teleports them outside of the ship.
They are in shock of what had just happened as they see more and more dust flying in the wind. The same dust that had been...
Had been...
Fearless doesn't even realize the others where trying to talk to them until Magneto kneels and carefully grabs their attention. He tells them that he was going to move them to the medbay to deal with the broken leg, before the rest could be addressed.
Fearless doesn't have it in them to stop him from carrying them to the infirmary.
It doesn't take long for the news to come in.
The news that some alien named Thanos had snapped half of the universes population into dust... and there was no way to reverse it.
The reality of the situation hits Fearless like a freight train.
Their crew.
Their family.
Their father.
They were all dead... and there was now way to get them back...
Oh Primus what about the other bots on Cybertron!
The Scavengers?!
Alabaster!?
Magneto recognizes the panic attack settling in with fearless and gently tries to calm them down, even going so bold as to place a hand on their shoulder.
Normal Fearless would have swatted that hand and told Magneto to shove it.
This Fearless? They nearly lept out of the bed and HUGGED him.
Eric was frozen in place as his kid, his Fearless began to sob uncontrollably into his shoulder. Loud gasps of air and broken sobs, yelling for the names of their crew and why.
Why did this had to happen?
Why did it take their family?
Why didn't it take them too?
Why where they left alone again?
Magneto slowly wraps his arms around the sobbing Fearless as they hold tighter. He wants to say something, but nothing comes out. he doubts that anything he could say now would do anything.
Fearless had just lost their other family and there wasn't anyone could do about it...
Since Magneto is a bit well known amongst humans, its going to be a safe bet that the three of them at least have a basic understanding on who this man is.
And all three of them will block his view from Fearless when they hear that they don't have a good relationship with him.
Magneto is a bit confused why the softest human he has ever seen is trying to give him a death glare, the other one has a mixed look between Logan and Hank's, the smallest boy just has his arms firmly around 'Fearless' and refuses to look at him.
Nutshell summary for tfa Fearless but with dadneto? How would megs feel about his adoptive child having a parent that is a terrorist and abandoned them
In a nutshell...
Fearless is living with the Decepticon's now.
Now further questions, its happening.
Megatron knows he can't beat this puny scum of an organic outlier, but Primus he is NOT touching his kid!
Fearless is his kid now!
Starscream and the other Con's are looking for legal ways (both Cybertronian and Human) to officially adopt Fearless.
Meanwhile Fearless is happily perched on Megatron's shoulder, completely unware on what's happening in his helm.
