Do the men's restrooms have diaper changing tables?
I've heard mixed things, that some do, that some don't
did you know ... who really did “women’s work”?
“Women’s work“ is not natural law and you don’t need a vagina to feed a baby. the boomers were the first and last generation to make a huge deal out of "women's work." That was literally a 40s-50s thing that thrived during the post-war boom era. Before and after, whoever had a hand to pick up the baby and feed it was the one to do it.
Even middle class victorian fathers cared for their their babies (upper class victorians did have childcare but millions of poorer parents did not, or had only partial paid help plus live-in relatives -- see Meet Me in St Louie, Cheaper by the Dozen, Sister Carrie, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn).
“Women’s work” and men being allergic to diapers was a trend, and it was a stupid trend, and it started to fall out of favor around 1970 with the women’s movement and women entering the workforce through the 80s. (See Mr. Mom) Gen x dads started parenting as soon as they grew up and realized that their boomer dads did a shit job and it caused childhood trauma.
63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (US Dept. Of Health/Census) – 5 times the average. 90% of all homeless and runaway children
Stop down playing fathers roles. Fathers are important. Fathers matter.
Shout out to all the Fathers out there, enjoy YOUR day.
Father's Day
Today is a day that we stop and recognize the fathers in our lives. Sadly this day is tainted due to absentee fathers who refuse to take that responsibility. Now there are single moms and lesbian studs who call themselves fathers. NEWSFLASH: You're not fathers!!! You have 364 other days of the year to drag fatherhood through the mud. I'm sure this day makes you angry cause you didn't have your father growing up, or the father of your children chose not to be around. Stop the bitterness. I'm sure you know one guy that is a good father to his kids or you see a guy that is being a good male role model to children. Take a moment to wish them a happy father's day. And to the good fathers out there, don't let anyone take your day away from you.
Dads Matter!
As a father myself it’s no surprise that parenting, especially the father-child relationship, is a topic close to my heart. Over the years of ministry here at the Rescue Mission, we have found that there are many programs, classes, and services geared towards mothers, but support and training oriented specifically to fathers are lacking.
This is why it is so exciting for us when we found Dads…

All I can say is, that video of the father regulating on the dude for telling his daughter to twerk is Exactly why fathers are important and society needs to start respecting fathers roles and contributions in the family.
