idk much about this so idk if this is the correct terminology but do you think that color patterning on a daemon affects the personality of the person they belong to??? like, do you think a sable sheltie person is different from a tricolor sheltie person?
that is a super interesting question! i think that specific colors and patterns are part of the settled form of a dæmon and therefore could be taken into account for some forms. it’s not like it affects it per se, but it could be a way to show something more about the person’s character.
as an example, Farder Coram’s dæmon Sophonax is described in the books as a large “autumn-coloured” cat, with all sorts of golden and bronze and copper hues which Lyra marvels at. i’ve always pictured Sophonax as a large tortoiseshell maine coon. to me that is a representation of Farder Coram’s rich, complex personality and knowledge.
in no particular order, here’s a list of things that could be cool to think about when it comes to color/patterns/markings: are they showy or discreet, reflecting some parts of the human’s personality? if they are camouflage-type, does it mean the person is good at blending in or hiding? if it is a rare coloring, does it indicate something special about the person? could it be influenced by the person’s environment, animals and daemons they’ve grown up around? maybe it’s just something simple like us having wavy hair or freckles or blue eyes? so many questions???
What do you think a person with a Barred Owl Daemon would be like? Also a Husky daemon? (Also I'm sorry you're feeling bad, I hope you feel better soon 💙)

i personally love barred owl people. i actually often see my best friend’s dæmon as a barred owl! they are pretty discreet people, quietly opinionated, hardworking and focused, patient. huge bookworm and/or academic vibes!! kind souls, but they can come off as a bit cold or timid until they open up to you.
huskies: much energy!!!! curious, active and outdoorsy people, fun to be around, witty, social, sometimes a great sense of dark humor. like most dog people, loyal and dedicated; can be very serious when shit needs to get done!

yes! i feel like an osprey would represent well your slightly wilder side. i think i see yours as a pine marten or a river otter most of the time, but osprey people are badasses and close to nature, so it could work for sure.

a mustang would definitely be someone a bit fiery; righteous yes, but they would rather make up their own orders than follow stupid orders. chaotic good if you will.
a percheron would just be a good ass person. efficient, active, kind, hard-working maybe to a fault. i could see a percheron person work with kids, as a teacher maybe.
