LOOK. even tho i don’t make much content for it anymore, I still love it. It’s fun to write and it makes sense within canon (and gives an explanation to why tf jonah kept barnabas’ bones) HOWEVER. The fanon interpretation of Barnabas Bennett is just. Wrong to me. You’re telling me this asshole, who laughed in Mordechai Lukas’ face when told to repay a small debt and said to take it before the courts bc they’re more likely to believe him, is like. Soft, sappy and romantic? Barnabas Bennett was a BITCH, and that’s a hill i will die on.

My issues with jonahbas arent with the ship itself - its a HUGE comfort ship to me - and more with a lot of popular interpretations of the characters. Jonah Magnus is, well, Jonah Magnus, and Barnabas Bennett is a cocky asshole who just happened to prefer being alone than with friends. I wanna write/read more stuff where they’re both a bit more.... unlikeable ig. 

That being said, overall i love jonahbas and wish i had hopped on the 1800s harem train sooner so my interpretation of these two thots was more ‘accepted’ as fanon lmao
