Honestly, I just saw it as she trying to appeal to his humanity to save her life and the other lady’s life, and he mused it for five whole seconds, and decided naaaaaah
I thought it was going this way, but then he left the woman alive and the episode finished with John all sappy and questioning life. I’ll try to watch a few more episodes to make a better judgement, but even if the writers forgot this ever happened, it still kinda destroyed the character for me.
seriously though, I agree with anon re how you stay alive. If you ever decide to teach a writing class at some prestigious university or something, I'd go into even more student dept to take it.
