2daensonnet replied to your post: I feel deeply uncomfortable with how… From what I’ve seen of werewolves on this show and certain books i’ve read,depending on the author killing pack members is not out of the norm? Maybe if Derek had a bigger pack and more power he would kill Peter. Well,  while I might accept this theory in general, I do not accept it in the teen wolf universe because these werewolves were not only pack but blood relatives and were socialised in a human environment so I cannot believe that killing a close relative is somehow less depicable and abominable. And I do not think that the Hale famlily would have practised such rituals since the Alpha status and your status within a pack that mostly consists of family members surely  is not determined by  rules like"survival of the fittest". I am pretty sure Laura killed nobody to become an Alpha but raised to the Alpha status naturally because she was the most capable of the members of the Hale family that were left afer the fire. Which by the way, makes Peters crime even more despicable and unforgiveable. I know that the members of the Alpha pack all killed their betas. But I think the show makes it pretty clear that this is not the norm and actually a pretty unnatural and atrocious crime against werewolf nature. coratothecore replied to your post:I feel deeply uncomfortable with how… well, not sure about Cora’s reaction, because we know nothing she did during last six/seven years. Derek is…well, Derek. You are right, Cora is a wild card. For all we know she could be brainwashed or emotionally detached from the sister she did not see in years and probably believed to be dead for just as long. Still, I am disturbed by the fact how casually the line “uncle Peter who killed sister Laura" was spoken. Same goes for Derek attitude towards Peter. It is just too casual.

That’s what it sounds like. But I wonder if it isn’t Scott or Derek speaking and whoever it is isn’t just really speaking in a low voice.

I think it’s still Scott speaking when he says that line about not knowing what else to do. I just watched the trailer again.

Hmm, could be. But I rewatched it and i definitely still think it's Deucalion. And since this line is completely untypical for this character  (when we consider what we learned about him so far) I feel confirmed in my belief that there is some sad, tragic background story we still have to learn about.

I mean this is what Jeff Davis always does. The male villains always get the luxury of having "reasons" for their evil acts which either root in a tragic past or a tragic fate.

This fandom has some pretty basic people in it with limited imaginations. He probably won’t even be a straight up villain, especially if your meta about the meaning behind Deucalion’s name comes into play in season 3

lol, I wouldn´t vouch for the quality of my meta, I´ve been very wrong before. But I am quite hopeful that Jeff Davies did not name his arch-villain after a little known character of Greek mythology just for the fun of it. And so far, the villains in each season ( Peter, Matt) have always been shaped by a traumatic event in their past and driven by strong urges for retribution an revenge. The name choice lets me assume that something similar happened to Deucalion, especially since he seems to be a alpha werewolf without a real family or a pack in the common sense. And since he`s a werewolf it is pretty possible that his past connects him with the Hale family.

 I really, really can´t wait for season 3 to start.......
