One Dark Night
Mina was walking down the street and didn’t even realize she was following a certain sound toward a specific destination. She was lost in thought. Sure she had her cell phone now but it was a poor substitute for friends. She missed talking to people and having people talk to her. There was always those she met on the job but they were never genuinely interested in having a conversation with her. And her time with them was always brief and just the one time only. Never meeting the same being twice made it impossible to make friends at work. Work had gotten in the way of her studies but that didn’t mean she couldn’t continue to study the world on her own. She’d had plenty of opportunity to travel on her own for work so took time to look around now and then.
When she suddenly stopped walking she pushed some hair behind her left ear and looked at her surroundings. Oddly enough she’d stopped directly in front of a bar. Trying to blend in with the rest of the living she’d went throught the proper channels and obtained IDs. Even though the name on her ID was Lee Mi Na she still only went by Mina when introducing herself to others. She had no idea what her original last name was. She walked in after showing her id to the bouncer outside. The music was loud and the smell of alcohol filled the air. She took a seat at the bar and placed an order, “I’ll take a double of the strongest drink you have.” Mina couldn’t get drunk but sometimes she appreciated the sensation of drinking strong alcohol.
