okay yeah asexuality is a viable explanation but also consider, queer people are not inherently sexual beings and we can portray queer romance in the media without making it overtly sexual because sexual intimacy is not the only intimacy we are capable of experiencing.

I agree. My post is addressing that non-sexual relationships exist and are also valid. Thank you for highlighting this, it speaks to me on a personal level as someone who is ace-spec but not entirely asexual.
