@lathbora-virann thank you for the tag~! No one to tag but if you see this you can consider me tagging you in this if you want to do your own post~!
As per usual I do not edit my works til I am done, unless I notice something quickly so these are raw af so please ignore any awkwardness~!
From a mini-series following DA:I, and how Sulahnera and Solas fell in love! A prequel to my main long-fic (that is so far from seeing the light of day except for these WIP posts) Vinegar and Turpentine. This is her leaving for the Conclave~!
It's raining that day. It was not a heavy rain, the kind that ushered animals into their shelters, muddied the roads, and flooded rivers. It was not the kind that would have had her waiting in the Aravel's warm interiors, departure delayed until skys cleared, and thunder passed. It was not the comforting kind of rain, the sound as it hit the roof of the aravel late into the night, or the woody, fresh smell of the soaked earth when morning came. This rain was nothing but a constant drizzle. The kind of rain that would slowly soak her hair and her leathers the longer she trudged her way to the main road. The kind that caused mud to be squished between her toes, and hair to be stuck to her skin.
A snippet from the opening chapter of Vinegar and Turpentine~! My time-travel fix-it fic. Sulahnera tries to comfort while she is grieving.
Sulahnera turned her gaze to the ground. It was a solace that she couldn't decide her envy of. It was hard to say that she envied the emotions of holding someone so dear as death took them, helpless to do anything to save them. Yet, a part of her did envy him. The ability to hold the one he loved, to whisper gentle goodbyes. To clean their body so they could rest at ease. Things she wouldn't be able to do. "I'm sure….in those moments… ," she struggled to find the words as she placed a hand gently on his back, "If it were me…. to have love as my final thought….I think it is the most precious possiblity given the circumstances." I wonder what he thought of. They were words she dared not speak into the world. She couldn't bear to consider the possibilities. Couldn't bear to think of his breath fading, alone in the Blight, with no one there by his side. Without her there to hold him. It was near nauseating as she forced the thought from her mind.
A snippet from a comfort fic for Emmrook~! Rook gets hurt in the necropolis, visits Emmrich's apartment, and gets emotional thinking about the future~!
It had been a long time, but that was hardly what was on her mind in the moment. She felt like a dumb, horny student, the thought of being lead back to their lovers apartment for the first time made her heart race. It is true that she had spent a fair few nights with him in the Lighthouse, some chaste, and some not so, but it felt different when it was his apartment. Not just the room he lived in while working with the Veilguard, but the apartment he lived and worked in. It felt intimate in a way, like he was inviting her into his world. It was only for an injury, of course, but the thought still sent butterflies into her throat. But, she liked it. She gazed at his profile as they walked, and traced the lines of his face with her eyes as he spoke. The thought of returning home, to the same home, at the end of a long day made her melt, those kind eyes being the final thing she saw at night, and the first she saw in the morning. Those very eyes glanced her direction, catching hers as she practically stared him down.
Digging my feet into writing again has been a hard process but it's moving along slowly and surely and I'm thriving. Wwhile I don't have much on paper, the fact that thinking about writing fills a lot of my thoughts is very motivating to me. Hoping I can have more soon~!
