Artwork for Blood and Fire
Got the chance to work with the incredibly talented femslash monarch @butterflyslinky again for this year's @spnbangbang. You have to read it. Pass the DagonAbaddon AND the DagonKelly!!! Such a thoughtful character study of Dagon.
I got caught up on the concept in the fic of the thorny vines around Abaddon and knew I wanted to incorporate that in some way, while keeping the greater camera focus on Dagon and her emotion, because I feel that is the driving force of the fic. I also wanted to challenge myself to do something unambiguously sexual rather than suggestive, and of course the spnbangbang is the place to do that!
I tried to find an existing reference image with this pose, but couldn't find an existing one, so I made one with these figures:
which I'm afraid I don't remember the name of the website I used oops lol! but thank you whoever you are that made some posable 3d women.
I went for oil pencils and watercolour, as I did for the previous butterflyslinky fic I made art for, this time for opposite reasons! In the last one, I used watercolour for skin tones to give a coldness to it, whereas here I used oil pencil for our figures to give them a warmer texture, with a watercolour background of their demonic essences having vapor-sex. They are both very, very alive in the story, despite their hellish aims and personhood.
