Tentomon’s a neat robot-like ladybug digimon, and one of the core Child-level digimon of the first season of the anime, Digimon Adventure. It’s also one of my favourites of the bunch! Usually, ladybugs are played for cuteness – and I’m not saying Tentomon isn’t cute – but it definitely goes about ladybug representation differently from what’s typical. To such a degree I never even realised it was a ladybug as a child! I just regarded it as some cool bug thing.
Perhaps one of its most distinctive traits is its variance in limbs, with its forelegs each having a single claw, whereas its middle and hindlegs each have four. It’s reductive to call the digits on the middle legs “claws”, however, as they’re individually segmented like complex fingers: its description stating that they’re able to grasp as effectively as a human hand. This style of segmentation also appears on the connecting bits of its limbs, and is actually quite common amongst other insectoid digimon as well. Tentomon’s also got a very distinctive face with large, green compound eyes and interlocking mandibles. The shell on its back can also open up and reveal wings, with the shell closing around the central spot on its back. My favourite part of its design, though, is probably its antenna – they’re so wavy, they have an almost fire-like quality to them. Rather than fire, though, Tentomon is associated with electricity! In fact, many bugs in this franchise are electric-oriented in general.
Personality-wise, Tentomon is said to be quite peaceful, enjoying sniffing flowers and napping in the shade of trees. This makes it a prime candidate for partnering up with a human, which is exactly what happens. Tentomon is the partner of Izumi Koushiro (dub name: Izzy), who nurtures Izumi’s stereotypical nerd interests whilst also helping to encourage him to open up past his relatively unsociable nature and be there for his friends. Digimon Adventure has a significant focus on character growth, with digimon partners commonly being crucial to that growth, and Tentomon is a great example of that.
Digimon unfortunately has far less bug representation than Pokemon does, but at least it has Tentomon. I adore this dweeby little ladybug, and it’s a shame that the Digimon aesthetic has seemingly deviated so far from this that we’ll never get anything similar to Tentomon ever again. We don’t even have any recolours to go over!
Refusing to put a weak woman in for fear of being sexist is also a bit sexist. You should be free to put both strong and damsel in distress types in.

Oh boy…this is going to be a looooong one. Starscream is actually my favorite Transformers character no matter what continuity he is in. (Well…I don’t care much for what the writers did to him in Energon. THERE WAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL THERE THAT WAS WASTED)

Listen…Starscream is a shit head. He has done horrible things, and I know that G1 is a black and white 80s cartoon, but I really feel that Starscream would make an excellent grey character (I know he kind of is in Armada…and it almost seemed like he would be in Prime and I think he is in the comics(?) but I NEED this). I have a lot of headcanons and feelings about G1!Starscream in general. I do not really want to go into them here, but if anyone wants to know i’d be happy to talk about them!
I also feel like there are times where Starscream needs a talking to (I won’t physically try to fight him, but I would try to argue with him), but it also seems like no one listens to him and everyone needs someone to confide in.

I still cannot art, but yes I have written about him before and I would absolutely LOVE to take the G1 episode Fire In The Sky and turn it into an arc for Starscream and Skyfire. I would also like to try to write G1!Starscream as a grey character and give him a redemption arc(??????). So he would probably leave the Decepticons at some point and be on his own but he’d help the Autobots if there is something in it for him. (I dunno, I have i d e a s) He might join the Autobots eventually….but it would take awhile.

I have never written anything for this Starscream. I think his story is perfect and I feel like changing it would just be a disservice to his character. It has also been years since i’ve seen an episode that isn’t Cramp so I feel like i’d have to watch the show again before writing about anyone from Armada.

As I typed previously, I feel like Energon!Starscream has so much wasted potential and I hate how his character was pretty much wiped from Armada. (I am not a biiig fan of amnesia stories…especially when they are done like this) I think he should have somehow got his memories back, or the Autobots should have done something. (HECK, I THINK ALEXIS SHOULD HAVE HAD A BIGGER ROLE IN THIS SHOW. HER FRIENDSHIP WITH STARSCREAM WAS INTERESTING AND ADORABLE AND HEARTBREAKING)

I don’t really remember much about Cyberton, but I do remember being very very confused. (Probably because Cybertron is not supposed to tie in with Armada and Energon. I would probably argue with this Starscream, but not physically fight him. I think he deals with enough in this show. (I mean…he gets his aft kicked by Miko if i’m remembering correctly) I’d probably fight for him. He goes through enough.

I have never wrote anything for Prime!Starscream before. However, I’ve seen some excellent fanfictions for him. (If anyone is interested in a redemption arc for him. I know of a few fics) Maybe if I ever start actively writing i’ll write something for him one day.
How many main factions are there? (Autobot, Decepticon, Maximal, etc.
You’ve named most of ‘em! If we define a “main” faction as one that’s been a central pillar of a core toyline/franchise, you’ve got Autobots, Decepticons, Mini-Cons, Maximals, Vehicons, and at least two kinds of Predacons - the “descendants of the Decepticons from the future” from the Beast Era, and the “prehistoric Cybertronian dragons” from Prime. The former group could also be considered to encompass the Robots in Disguise Predacons, but if we’re being fair, that group has a different name in its native Japan (Decepticons and BW Predacons were called “Destrons” there, but the RiD Preds were “Destrongers”).
Significant not-so-main-but-still-important-to-their-respective-series factions would probably include the second-generation “Cybertronian Empire” from Generation 2, who were the primary antagonists of the comic book, the Beast Wars Mutants, who were the stars of their own one-wave “Mutant Beast Wars” line, the Unicron-allied Blendtrons from Beast Wars Neo, the Beast Machines Dinobots, who were branded as Maximals but had their own unique isignia and sub-line of toys, and we’d probably count the Star Seekers since one of the got a toy with his insignia on the box instead of a ‘bot or ‘con one!
What determines who gets the MP treatment, and in what order?
Nobody truly knows the exact reasons each decision is made except the guys who are making those decisions, but there’s a few obvious factors.
The fame/popularity of the character, cause hey.
Whether or not they can actually license a real-world alternate mode from its manufacturers - which is why there’s no MP Jazz yet when he’d otherwise be a really obvious candidate.
And the potential for future repaints to offset the cost of creating a brand new mold. The first of the smaller “Autobot car” Masterpieces was Sideswipe, who has been repainted and/or retooled five separate times on top of the original release. Guys like him, or the Datsun mold, or Tracks, are what recoup costs so we can get guys like Shockwave or Megatron, who have no mass-market repaint potential.
I love the art in it, but would you recommend Immortal Hulk for the story? Or something else as grotesque and gorgeous as that?

can’t recommend Immortal hulk enough! I would say it does get a little weeded down with the Minotaur stuff right after War of the Realms through the Xemnu stuff (as much as I loved the idea of bringing him back I just don’t think it hit as much as it could have) but it’s really ramping up again!
I’m probably not the best person to ask bc I’m not big on zombie stories in general (I just think they’re really formulaic and always have the same story notes) but I’m kinda ehh on it, like it’s not terrible but it’s just kinda basic, I’d much more recommend DCeased and plus there’s a ton more to read for it if you want a super hero zombie comic rn
