Maundy Thursday's Bisikleta Iglesia 2018, Old Manila It's my first time to do a solo Bisikleta Iglesia, and part of the challenge and adventure is exploring the century old churches of Old Manila with my folding bike Ushi Yuri. I had a pleasure of visiting 14 of the beautiful churches of Manila, each boasting with rich history and religious art. Eight of which, I visited for the first time. Exploring Manila on two wheels gave me the liberty to weave through traffic with ease. Doing it with a folding bike allowed me to bring it inside the church with me and not worry about bike parking. It was a solemn solo baliw ride, braving the unexpected of what Old Manila has instored for me. Passing through the various streets from posh Intramuros to the grunge of Tondo, there was only one theme as people from all walks of life observe and celebrate the Holy Week. It gave me a glimpse of what it's like to be a Catholic, and how this religion embraces all. Taking whatever is thrown to its face, braving through the imperfections of humanity and just be accepting regardless of what's taboo or not. I've had a glimpse of the many faces of the Filipino Catholic, best experienced in Old Manila. #ushiyuri #DahonVitesseD7 #tiklopadventures #solobaliw #BisikletaIglesia2018 #OldManila #ChurchesofManila #CenturyOldChurchesofManila (at Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora De Guia)
