Beta Chapter 1 for my Lotura Fanfic
Hey!!! This is a beta section from chapter 1 of my Lotura fanfic that I’ve been working on the concepts for for the past two years. I was too lazy to actually type up the tags last time I tried to post this and erased a whole hour’s worth of work by using the command copy/paste keys...that was sad and I’m still not sure how it happened. Anyway, I just wanted to point out that this is beta so it’s not very polished, and that there is a mention of abuse so be warned!!! Welp, I hope you enjoy :)
Prince Lotor, the six-year-old sole heir to the Galra empire found himself being roughly shaken away in the middle of the night by his governess.
“Dayak...?” he asked, confusion lacing his words as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. “Do we already have lessons?”
“Listen to me very carefully Prince Lotor,” Dayak whispered urgently,--Lotor noticed that she wore a uniform used only when leaving the royal palace. “I have packed your necessities and and laid out some clothes for you--”
She frowned at the interruption. “Lower your voice, your lordship. If we are caught, the consequences will be severe. I have arranged for a ship to take you to the planet Earth, where you will live from now on--where the Emperor and his witch cannot harm you.”
Lotor flinched at the mention of his parents--the bruise on his small face from Zarkon’s outburst the night before suddenly reminded him of it’s presence by sending a sharp, throbbing pain through his skull.
“I have arranged for a group who...sympathizes with your situation to take you there. I will take you to their ship, but I cannot accompany you on your journey. I must stay behind for the time being and take care of some things, but I will join you some time after you have arrived, do you understand?”
Lotor nodded, though he did not quite understand what his governess was saying. He did, however, fully comprehend that he was escaping his parents, and a mixture of uneasiness and relief flooded his body.
“Good,” she replied. “I will return in fifteen dobashes, but when I come back, I expect you to be ready to leave. And for the love of all things sacred, keep quiet.”
Lotor nodded again and slid out of is bed, grabbing the clothes that Dayak had left out for him and setting off towards his bathroom. The moment he was out of sight, Dayak sighed deeply.
She cast her eyes to the heavens in prayer to any god that would listen. “I don’t do this very often but...please help the boy--if there really is a greater being in this universe, please, I beg of you keep the boy safe...”
