Week 13 Videogame Fanart This one is from Nino Kuni 1 and 2. Blue is dressed as Oliver and Gold is dressed as Evan. They each have their corresponding fairies, familiars and Higgledies. They were the first games from the Studio Ghibli animation studio (known for spirited away, Howls moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro... etc.) . Ive been in love with Ghibli movies since I was a little kid so when I heard they were coming out with a videogame I was so excited, and they didnt let me down. The first game is about oliver, a boy from our world whose doll comes to life and tells him he is the only hope for the magical world. So he travels to the world of magic and becomes a wizard and sets out to fix peoples broken hearts and defeat the evil Dark One. Its a mix of turn based and comvat. You can fight with Oliver or use "familiars" which are alot like pokemon. Its very cheesy and juvenile, but thats half its charm. The storyline takes up alot of the game but uts lile playing a ghibli movie so it was worth it for me. Animated cut scenes in the Ghibli style make it really unique. Awesome tale of friendship and the battle between light and darkness. The second is a bit different. No more animated cut scenes but the fighting style is non turn based and more combat. The world is massive and youll be kept bisy with all the side quests. Instead of familiars there are Higgledies, which are like elemental kodamas. The story is about King Evan who is usurped after his fathers death and has to build his own kindgom with the help of Roland, a world leader from our world who gets mysteriously brought to the magical world at a convenient time to help Evan escape and buikd his Kingdom. Still a bit cheesy but in all the right ways. Lots of boss battles. I have yet to finish this one since its so damn massive. I love these games so much.
