They don’t usually have slow days to experience how limiting it can be, but right now it has been three days since their last mission and Daisy feels that she will die without something to do. Literally, die. Forget about Hydra and the Watchdogs, what will finally succeed in taking down this mighty superhero is utter and dreadful boredom.
It doesn’t help matters that she is dating the epitome of a killjoy.

May glares at her, and Daisy feels herself blushing, both from the power of May’s gaze and from her own thoughts.
“You were thinking about it.” She squats and winces at her limited range of movement. Daisy tries her hardest to hide a giggle at her disappointed face. “I fucking hate undercover.”
“Hey, now, nothing of that.” She drags May closer by her hips, and on regular life she barely notices the inch and a half she has on May, but now with May still barefoot and her in her usual combat boots, the difference is much noticeable and a tiny bit enticing. “Don’t rage against the clothes.”

Summary: May and Daisy have an overdue conversation next to Andrew's grave.
Notes: Before S4, I wrote a fic (in spanish) about Daisy getting pregnant one year after leaving S.H.I.E.L.D. This is a scene from that fic, that I "translated" (very loosely) for @daisyjohnson-sq, and decided to share for everyone else, because I think it works pretty well on its own.I think that the only important things for you to know are that this happens ~1.5 years after the end of S3, Daisy is pregnant and May is Director.
Sneak-Peak:
She would like to think this is a coincidence, but when you have been a spy and are now a vigilante in the shadows, you can not afford to believe in coincidences. After all, she is always very careful when she comes to see “him”: she wears colorful clothes, that contrast with the somber style she chose for Quake, and she never comes on any significant date (the anniversary of his death, the anniversary of when she left S.H.I.E.L.D., not even the anniversary of when they met). Maybe she should reject May’s presence the same way one can resent an unexpected hug, but even though she knows it’s not a coincidence, she doesn’t feel attacked by it either. Maybe because May is not huddling in the shadows waiting to catch her, but instead standing on plain sight and not looking at her. Maybe because May has some white flowers with her. Maybe because it’s May.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A MAYxDAISY SCENE LIKE THIS ONE MY ENTIRE LIFE.

Thank you so much, you guys! You definitely brightened up my entire day. I try to keep this kind of thing in mind despite my anxiety trying to make me bend backward to make people like me. More than anything, it makes me sad that this kind of behavior is still going around in 20gayteen, because I think it can be done to someone that maybe won’t be in a condition to handle it well, and it could be terrible for their fandom experience/creativity/self-esteem.
Never forget that there is another human being on the other side of the screen!
(And this human being is particularly open to MayDaisy prompts now, guys, just saying.)
