WIP Wednesday

From the long promised foursome in Love like sunlight, because I'm gonna make sure this fandom has at least one (1) fic of these four fucking if it's the last thing I do.

“You doing fine, baby?”

Sometimes she looks at Nezha with his caring eyes and she can’t help thinking that he will make an outstanding father. She pushes those thoughts away, not only because she doesn’t want to bring down the mood, but because that is a messy topic that she doesn’t feel ready to tread with him. 

With any of them, really.

“Nezha, I started this whole she-bang, of course I’m fine.” He raises a doubtful eyebrow at her. “Well, it was Kitay, whatever, but he wouldn’t have done something if I wasn’t comfortable.” 

There is a softness in his eyes when she talks to him about Kitay that Rin can not fully understand, but it makes her feel more self-conscious than her nudity.

Summary: Zetian and Yizhi have a conversation and begin to heal.

Sneak-Peek:

Shimin lets him talk, interrupting him only occasionally with some very pointed questions, and not for the first time Zetian mourns how differently this would have unfolded if he had been by her side. But then again, Yizhi was by her side, and look how that turned out. It’s easy to believe that Shimin would have never betrayed her, but, if asked, she would have sworn the same about Yizhi. What a truly horrendous revelation, that love can be the very same thing that ruins love for you.

Four days and four nights

Summary: 

After saving the world, getting Shimin back and re-organizing an Empire, the three of them deserve a moment to rest and celebrate each other.

After all, Shimin has a new body and Zetian and Yizhi have plans for it.

Sneak-Peek:

She is quiet, looking at him with those intense eyes of hers and Shimin would be nervous if having her attention wasn’t one of the most wonderful feelings in the world.

“Shimin,” she begins, voice low, only once they hear the water running in the kitchen and Yizhi humming happily to himself, “take me to bed, please.”

There are no stairs in the house- Shimin can imagine that accessibility was one of the reasons why Yizhi chose it- which means that even from the bedroom they can still hear the faint sound of Yizhi singing to himself. It’s nice to know that even while he is not exactly there with them, they can still feel him close. Shimin wonders if he will ever feel calm while not knowing exactly where they are, if at some point the scars they have in their hearts will fade as the scars of their bodies have faded.

Only time will tell, he supposes.

I know it's not Wednesday anymore but yesterday flew me by so have a bit of WIP Wednesday-Thursday.

From my "Nezha has a dream about Rin and Kitay that turns his life upside down" story,

He lets his head fall on the table with a loud bang. It hurts like hell, but that is good because the pain distracts him from everything else.  “What is going on?” Nezha groans. His stupid move has summoned Niang from somewhere else in the apartment, and great, now there will be even more witnesses to his fall in disgrace.  “Nezha is gay.”  “I am not!” Venka disregards his protest with a hand gesture. “Well, gay for Kitay. Tomato, tomahto.” Niang sits down by his side, a sympathetic look in her lovely face and Nezha wants to fucking die. Why did he think talking about this with Venka was a good idea again? “I can see that.” “What,” Nezha sputters at the same time Venka rests her chin on the back of her hands and looks at her girlfriend adoringly, “Can you now darling.” Niang shrugs.  “I always thought you were too pretty to be straight.” Nezha groans, again, and hits his head against the table, again.

Rinkitay angst over Nezha dying and them resenting one another because of them blaming each other of it, subconsciously

She says, "I didn't think he was actually going to die."

He says, "I know."

She says, "He tried to kill me first."

He says, "I know."

She says, "It was me or him. You know that."

He says, "I know."

She says, "I can't believe he is not coming back."

He says, "I know."

She says, "Why does he always get the best part, even in death?"

He says nothing at all.

WIP Wednesday

It's casually WIP Wednesday and I haven't done one of these in so long, but I have been writing for two (2) consecutive days for the first time in... a long time, and even if I am writing something that will end up being only for my eyes and maybe @apathbacktoyou because she is the best and supports me always, I am so happy I don't care!

So, from the InuMirSan "Kagome is gone and doesn't come back" AU,

Her voice comes shushed but steady, “I think I might be pregnant.” Inuyasha wasn’t expecting that, but he was expecting even less the reaction it elicits out of him, a knot of bittersweet feelings that lodge in his throat and that he can barely ignore in order to speak, less alone try to understand them.  “Then why don't you want to tell him?” Her bicep squeezes his against her chest, and he always forgets how strong she is, with arms that carry her Hiraikoutsu like it weighs nothing, a body that has endured almost death, a heart that endures all her pain and Miroku’s, sometimes even his own. He always forgets how fragile she is, a tiny human with a life that can die like a light.

Summary: Melinda struggles when Daisy gets hurt during a mission [A Captain Carter AU].

Notes: For @quakeriderwritersguild Valentine’s event. My prompt was: “Here, drink this. You’ll feel better.”

Sneak-Peek:

Melinda brings her cup to her mouth to not have to reply. She can not take the compliment when she doesn’t remember anything about that moment except the excessive pounding of her blood in her ears. It is good to know that even in the middle of chaos, her hands can still be her hands.

After she puts down her own cup, she pushes Daisy’s towards her. “Here, drink this. You’ll feel better.”

As she was expecting, Daisy’s nose furrows when the smell of honeyed tea hits her nostrils.

“Wasn’t there anything else to drink?” she complains in her most childish voice, and for the first time since Daisy got hurt in the middle of the mission, Melinda can breathe. “You and your tea.”
