BPoD is 10 years old! With over 3650 images from biomedical research accompanied by explanations, the BPoD archive isn’t merely a collection. By featuring current published research images chosen for their beauty or intrigue, BPoD has chronicled biomedical research over the last decade. Search the BPoD archive on ‘organoid’ for example and you’ll see how culturing mini-organs and tissues in dishes for ease of study and drug testing has taken off, or follow the evolution of astonishing microscopy and 3D imaging applications zooming in from organ to cellular scale. Often more like artworks than scientific results, BPoD images (eg. top and bottom middle) have even inspired designs for the cladding of our new building. We’re enormously grateful to researchers, institutes and journals who make wonderful images available to us. And to our team of talented writers who find and skilfully explain the images.
