Today's Pixel Dailies prompt was Pong. I didn't grow up when Pong was a big deal, since I came around in 1993 when Sonic was a big deal, but I figured animating an 8x8 Pong Game and then trying to make a stylized snippet of an old Pong Cabinet for the 16x16 would have been fun, and it was! I just want nothing to do with trying to remember which direction those knobs go every frame ever again. I also swear the paddle on the right in the 8x8 canvas is absolutely how I played Pong when I DID have access to it as a kid. I was twitchy and all over the place.

Today's Pixel Dailies Prompt was Augmented Reality.

At first I thought of the AR Cards packaged with the 3DS and Pokemon GO being an AR game. However, a friend of mine reminded me that Yu-Gi-Oh! (one of my favorite series, RIP Takahashi-san), was basically an Augmented Reality game and how in the world could I forget that?! So I made an 8x8 Dark Magician (the palette I used didn't have green in it, so his staff was kinda improvised with the magenta I had on hand), and a 16x16 Blue Eyes White Dragon.

Did you know? Trying to convey a huge honking dragon in a 16x16 space is HARD?

Today's Pixel Dailies Prompt was Armoured, so I naturally gravitated to making an Armoured Moo from Klonoa since I've been streaming the Phantasy Reverie Series over on my Twitch channel.

While I obviously could have made either of the main bodies smaller to accommodate the ears more, I just wanted to focus a little more on the main bodies on both the 8x8 and the 16x16. The colour palette I chose for the 16x16 sprite didn't quite have the colours I needed to feel like I could render it well. Either that or I'm trash at working in colour. Yeah, I'm probably just trash at working in colour. Anyways, here, have some teeny Moos. :>

Today's Pixel Dailies prompt was Asleep. You know, what I did for most of today.

I really wanted to include a cat, partly because of the release of Stray, which I still need to get and try out (we'll see whenever that'll happen with my procrastinating butt). I don't think these exactly clearly communicate sleeping, but tbh I didn't have enough energy to care all that much today.

I also took my first stab at doing scenery in the 16x16 size. Probably not the right canvas size to try to convey a whole scene, but eh, close enough I suppose?

Sometimes I just want to sleep the day away like these cats, without worrying about needing to get anything important done. Maybe I really need to take a vacation when my upcoming charity event is done in august...

Today's daily pixels theme was inverted.

For my 8x8, the only thing I could think I could convey clearly in such a small space in 4 colors was the masks of comedy and tragedy. I'm a big theater kid, so this felt pretty natural to go with.

For my 16x16, I wanted to do an inverted/mirrored split between night and day. I actually managed to use all 16 colors in my color palette that I chose today for it, and after walking away for a couple hours and looking at it again, it's actually clearer than I thought when I was making it.
