The Power Of Daily Activity Log : Boost Your Time Management
In this infographic, we will get to know about daily activity log. By keeping an Activity Log for a few days, you can build up an accurate picture of what you do during the day…
Daily Overview
I arrive at work and review my daily schedule. I have no new messages this morning, so I review our progress on Ron's project. I begin a diagram of possible solutions, starting with the probable cause of error then listing the solutions as they come to me. I rank them in order of best possible to worst possible solutions. Unfortunately, most of the solutions are equivalent in ranking. I bring this list to Ron, who had done some solution diagramming of his own. We compare our lists and discuss several strategies, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of each choice. We then have a minor disagreement which ends with me heading to my cubicle in a small huff to prepare for my next meeting.
Lora, who among one of her miraculous gifts, always seems to know when I'm upset (even if we haven't interacted yet) decided to pay me a visit during lunch. She helped me calm down and reminded me to focus on the positive things of the day, even when the negative seemed to swallow things up. Alright, so, Ron's project may not have been the only thing on my mind...
After my 1:00 PM meeting, I return to my cubicle to begin reviewing project requirements for my group's next assignment as well as checking in with those who may still need help. On my keyboard is a small card from Lora, reminding me what we had discussed over lunch. I know what I need to do. I place the card on the short filing cabinet behind me and head toward Ron's cubicle.
"Hey, Ron. I'm sorry for losing my head like that. You.. You made some good points," Alan smiled, "..and I think that going with Option 6 on your list is a logical choice, if you can get your boss to go along with it," Alan continued, hoping his friend would accept his apology. At last, Ron spoke.
"You know, Alan," he looked Alan square in the face, "you made some good points too. And I think you're right to be concerned with my boss's response to Option 6; it isn't exactly the simplest solution." He sighed, "I guess I was just a little put off by your initial reaction," he smiled, "apology accepted. Are we still friends?"
Alan smiled in response, "Yeah, we're still friends!" He extended his hand to Ron, who eagerly shook it.
The rest of the afternoon flowed much smoother until one of my colleagues found they had misplaced a file. I remembered Flynn mentioning he had a good searching program, but my colleague wasn't too hasty to go to the CEO and ask for his program so he could find the file. After some convincing, I ended up going to Flynn. In the end, the file was found and everything was quiet for the remaining 10 minutes of work.
Daily Overview
As with each day, I started off checking messages and reviewing my daily schedule. I helped Ron with one of his projects. At 10:00 am, I attended a meeting with my group. We discussed our project goals and re-evaluated how the project was coming along. Tracie offered to help Jason finish his portion of the project as she was almost finished with her piece of it. I reported success with my section of the project and was volunteered to aid those who were struggling with their parts of the project. The meeting closed with little progress aside from that.
At noon, I took my lunch break and resumed work @ 12:31 pm. I checked in on the security status of the system; currently, everything checks out ok. I then check in on Tracie & Jason to see if they need any help. They didn't, but it turns out Ron was still having trouble with his project. Most of the afternoon was spent trying to hunt down the problem. We eventually isolated what we believed to be the problem and will begin generating possible solutions tomorrow.
