The Townsend's big-eared bat (Corynorhinus townsendii) use their large ears for echolocation to find insects, as well as for navigating, and for thermoregulation by adjusting their ears to stay warm or cool. They can also use their ears to help with lift during flight. When flying, their ears point forward and can be extended or contracted quickly. When roosting, they coil their ears up to look like ram's horns to conserve heat!
