daily details 5.15.20

number one. took the laptop to the balcony to enjoy the rain while working from home. it’s friday, so i brought a beer along. this was probably one of the last cool days before summer.

number two. trying midori for the first time. shaken, with lime and vodka. topped off with mango la croix. the fact that it’s the color of slime makes up for the slightly forgettable taste.

number three. the disorienting feeling of sleeping through morning alarms. i didn’t even realize i had a morning routine until i was forced to skip it. i was out of step for the rest of the day.

number four. my cat always hides behind the washing machine during a thunderstorm. today, she hid under the desk in the kitchen. now, she’s in a box.

number one. stale waffles leftover from mother’s day. maple syrup and almond milk whipped cream. super disappointing.

number two. dropping seven raspberries into a glass of rosé. they hit the bottom of the glass and tiny bubbles start to form on their skin. one floats back up to the top.

number three. seeing a stoic coworker in parent-mode for the first time. you can’t not smile when talking about your kid’s spiderman pajamas.

number four. being a good friend is watching an entire twenty-snapchat rant about an imagined slight. a better friend probably would have replied.
