It is a sad day for Dirktectives. If you don’t already know and have not seen Arvind’s tweet, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency will not be returning for a third season of adventure and holistic goodness. I am personally heartbroken, as I’m sure many of you are as well. I had so much hope that our efforts and passion would truly Save Dirk Gently.

However, as Arvind stated, we did just that. We pulled all of our creativity, passion and love together and saved our beloved Dirk. It may not seem that way to a network or on the screen, but it is in our hearts. The people who love Dirk just as much as we do have all seen our outpour of devotion and appreciation for this show. They were there with us through the entire journey and would have gone with us through another crazy season. We set out to save our Dirk Gently, and we did it.

With this unfortunate news, I would ask that you do not lose sight of what Dirk Gently stood for. Remember that being weird is wonderful and that anyone can become an absolute badass like Amanda Brotzman, even if you can’t leave your house. Keep this show in your hearts and maybe, hopefully, someday we will see it again. For now, let us hang up our “amazing-multicolored leather jackets” and never forget that everything is connected.
