Dear Today,
Good morning began earlyat 5 a.m. The sky was still sleepy, and the air was cold. Today was a travel day. I was leaving for Nashik, with my bus scheduled at 7:00 in the morning. I had a simple breakfast of bread, butter, and chai, the kind that feels comforting before a journey.
At 6:45 a.m., I left home. I hugged my mother tightly one last hug before leaving and said goodbye. That moment stayed with me. When I reached the bus stop, the bus was already there since I had a booking. I settled in, put on my music, and slept through most of the journey, letting the road pass quietly beneath me.
I reached my room at 1:20 p.m. After washing up, I chatted for a while with my roommate. Feeling hungry and lazy to cook, I ordered burgers for myself and my friends. We ate together while watching a TV series, laughing and relaxing. After that, scrolling through my phone slowly turned into sleep.
I woke up around 7 p.m. and immediately called my mum. As expected, she scolded me for waking up so late, but I was genuinely tired. With no energy to cook and no water in the room due to the water shortage in Nashik, I stepped out. I went to a sweets shop and had chai and vada pav simple, warm, and satisfying.
At around 10 p.m., one of my roommates returned with a water can. We called the room owner, and he casually mentioned that he had received a message about the water issue but forgot to inform us. That really upset us if he had told us earlier, we could have filled the drum. Frustration filled the room for a while, but after talking it out, things slowly settled.
Now, the day is ending. The room is quiet again, and I’m ready to sleep tired, a little annoyed, but safe and settled.
Goodnight,
Living in letter
