"Custom and dress differs by district: the Redguards of Elinhir are Colovian in fashion and taste, while some in Rihad go naked in the streets." - Pocket Guide to the Empire, 1st Edition
I've been a fan of the Elder Scrolls series ever since Morrowind came into my life. I fell in love with the art and the lore, and the Redguards captured my fascination. Unfortunately, this isn't the case for many in the fandom. Many dismiss them as essentially Black Arabs in a North Africa setting, even though the Redguards have a fair number of Greco-Roman and Japanese influences.
I'm now seeking to change perceptions (hopefully), and so, for the first time in at least seven years, I've picked up a pencil and pen and put them to use. This piece was a struggle, as I'm seriously out of practice. Also, I cheated and used one of the late Adam Adamowicz's Skyrim clothing concepts as a base for the body positions. I essentially improvised the near-naked forms though, as Adam's concepts had full clothing and boots on and whatnot.
This piece was also difficult in the sense of trying to stay true to lore. I was thinking: "How do I make this as interesting as possible, while staying as true to lore as possible?" Well, the above is the result. I hope people like the first "work of art" I've done in over seven years.
