Had a weird dream last night that I was making butter at the office but I couldn't find the salt to scrub out the churn before I set it out in the sun and I got very mad about it because if I was going to have to make butter for those ungrateful assholes they shouldn't steal the salt out of the cupboard.

(There was an odd side-plot about saving the buttermilk to make the biscuits and possibly a cake but I was worried that it wasn't rich enough.)

MOU Signing between Tasty Dairy and Dutch Greenhouse Delta

During the ongoing CII Agro Tech fair Chandigarh 2018, an MOU has been signed between INDUCED (Indo Dutch Centre of Excellence on Dairying) and the Dutch company Dutch Greenhouse Delta in the presence of Dr. Hari Sharma from the Netherlands, Mr Vineet Saxena of Tasty Dairy, Kanpur and Mr. Desh Ramnath, Chairman of HortiHeros, Netherlands. The MoU is aimed to establish a Centre of Excellence on Horticulture on the lines of World Horti Centre of Netherlands and work for the growth of horticulture in India resulting in increased income for the farmers. The purpose is to help in achieving the doubling of farmer’s income in India with world-renowned Dutch technologies and bringing the best agri and dairying inputs from Dutch companies.

Dutch Greenhouse Delta is settled in the World Horti Center based in the Netherlands and is a group of a number of Dutch companies who have joined forces to continue innovation and prepare the Horticulture sector for future requirements. They offer an inspiring community of various startups and connect them with each other and with companies and talents in the sector.

INDUCED is an organization born out of MOU between the Kanpur based Tasty Dairy Specialities Limited and aims to set-up another Centre of Excellence on Dairying and works for the growth of farming by working upon enhancing the skills and bring the modern Dutch technologies in India suiting to Indian environment. The purpose is to reduce the cost of production and maintain the standards in quality so as to increase the income of the farmers.

The second and equal important aim of the cooperation is to bring India’s expertise on data, IoT and ICT in the field of horticulture to the Netherlands for a mutual benefit in regards to a sustainable cooperation between countries, companies, and educational systems.

The third area of cooperation would be in the field of biotech and life science in the crossover with horticulture. The global focus on health is shifting towards prevention instead of healing. An important part of prevention is lifestyle and nutrition.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Eric Egberts – CEO of Dutch Greenhouse Delta and Mr. Arpit Mehra – Senior Vice President of Tasty Dairy Specialities Limited which is the founding company of INDUCED.

While answering to the questions raised by the journalists, Mr. Arpit informed that this MOU is going to literally reform the horticulture sector and this will be achieved by establishing a Centre of Excellence which would aim to innovate new technologies and solutions in Indian context so that it can be used by progressive Indian farmers to raise their income. It will be supplemented by bringing in the proved Dutch expertise which will result in the enhanced benefit for the local farmers.

On this occasion, Mr. Desh Ramnath said that he is very much hopeful for the results that can be achieved through the implementation of this MOU. He said that he himself has his family root in India and wishes to bridge the gap between Dutch expertise and the Indian ambitions out of horticulture. As per him, it would be a win-win situation for both the Dutch companies and the Indian farmers.
