I saw a headcanon for Grandma!Reader here. Is it possible to get the reader's grandmother and Daishinkan (+ Zeno)?
I loved writing this!!! I love grandmas so much :3
If someone had told you that your grandmother would be serving tea to the Grand Priest himself, you would’ve laughed. Then again, you didn’t expect to somehow end up dating him either, or at least, whatever counted as dating when one half of the relationship was an ancient cosmic being.
Daishinkan had always been… composed. Graceful, serene, and the very definition of “untouchable.” Which is why the sight of him politely sitting on your grandmother’s floral couch while she offered him cookies shaped like cats was both heartwarming and mildly terrifying.
“So, you’re the young man my grandbaby’s been seeing?” your grandma asked, squinting at him as if she could see through universes (which, ironically, he actually could).
Daishinkan blinked, his usual calm expression unshaken. “That would be accurate, ma’am.”
“Oh, call me Nana!” she said cheerfully, patting his hand like she’d known him forever. “You’re very polite. And so handsome! You must eat well. Do they feed you properly up there in your... uh... angel palace?”
You nearly choked on your tea. “Grandma!”
Daishinkan only smiled faintly, the corners of his mouth softening in amusement. “I am well cared for, Nana. But your hospitality surpasses even divine cuisine.”
Your grandmother’s eyes sparkled. “Ohhh, you sweet talker! No wonder my grandbaby likes you.”
Before you could even try to redirect the conversation, the air shimmered, and Zeno popped into existence, small and gleeful.
“Daishinkan! You didn’t invite me to tea time!”
You froze. Daishinkan sighed softly, the kind of sigh reserved for when Zeno found scissors and decided to “trim” constellations again.
“Grandma, this is—”
“Another friend!” your grandma interrupted, already pouring tea into the tiniest cup she had. “Sit down, little one! I made cookies.”
Zeno gasped. “Cookies!!” and immediately started munching away, crumbs scattering like confetti.
You leaned over to Daishinkan and whispered, “This is chaos.”
He looked at you, eyes gentle. “It’s… rather nice, actually.”
Your heart skipped. The most powerful being in existence, second only to Zeno, sitting on your grandma’s couch, sipping tea, and smiling.
When it was time to leave, your grandmother clasped Daishinkan’s hands. “You take good care of my grandbaby, you hear me? And if you ever get tired of those fancy heavenly snacks, come back for more cookies.”
Daishinkan bowed slightly. “I assure you I intend to return.”
As the two of you floated back to his realm, you glanced up at him. “You really liked it, didn’t you?”
He gave you that soft, rare smile again. “Perhaps I have found a new reason to visit the mortal realm more often.”
And when Zeno shouted “Next time, I bring cupcakes!!” from behind, even Daishinkan laughed.
