so you give this a listen and you hear "Stage 1 (Green Wood)" and you think ok it's a cutesy little whatever. fine but nothing great
except WRONG it has some exceptionally great tunes randomly thrown in here. the feeling of 6 in "Sound Test" is amazing
overall representative highlight? prolly "Stage 5 (Red Mountain)". its somewhere between shmup energy and castlevania energy without touching on the vibes of either.

true to the title, this score is tense and dissonant. basically every tune is a banger boss fight kinda tune
huge ups to "Stage 4" for using the aliasing of the chip to great effect.

there's a canival 93 also, but that music is just a dupe of an existing game.
anyway. this is bright and bombastic and fakebrass. it's.... ok. extremely shmuppy kind of fakebrass, which ive grown less fond of over time.
"Credits (Team Alzadick)" is kinda fun tho.

same as the sequel game / prev post: it's one of those "fine but not great" soundtracks imo. something about it's pep doesn't sit right with me
tracks 53 and 60 are huge standouts to me. they feel like OP / EDs...
also is it just me or is the second half of this thing just a recording of a bunch of PCE chiptunes. huh?
