Mod Note: I have to say that this is one of the saddest happiest fics I’ve ever read and I felt a lot of emotions that I can’t really explain. I was moved to tears the first time I read it, and even on rereading it, my heart hurt. The idea is so simple yet it’s executed in a way that will pull your heartstrings, and it’s as mysterious as it is heart-wrenching. I’m very impressed with this kind of writing--especially since GammaCavy managed to tell such a good story in less than a thousand words. -Nila

Mod Note: It’s really short and sweet without being too angsty about the subject of Daisuke’s feelings about Dark after the end of the series, and the Satoshi/Daisuke pairing is really subtle and it can be read as a friendship fic if you want. It’s a great snapshot of their relationship really, and it truly gives you feelings of “cute”. I found this fic to be particularly inspiring when I was writing some of my own fics--the imagery is beautiful and it’s great prose too! -Nila

Mod Note:  Even without the curse, it seems like Satoshi’s destined to be socially repressed in some way, and in this universe he hasn’t really experienced holidays growing up with family or friends.  However, Daisuke’s holiday experiences aren’t always “normal” either, so there’s shenanigans to be had from both sides at any given point.  It has a light-hearted atmosphere, particularly since Dark and Krad don’t exist as curses in this universe.  They do show up eventually, under rather unexpected circumstances.  A universe with Krad as something other than manipulative or without ulterior motives really threw me for a loop, but given it’s an AU, it’s not entirely unwelcome.  -Aki
