Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 86, Part 3

Aster: Breakfast's nearly ready, Daddy.

Buddy got his scholarship!

Aster: Shoot! ... I hope everyone likes their pancakes well done.

Aster: You don't have to eat them if they're awful.

Hugh: No, it's fine.

Aster: They don't smell fine...

Buddy relaxes after a job well done. He'll have to get to his homework at some point, but not right now.

Daisy: You don't want a pancake, Bud?

Buddy: I'll pass, thanks. No offence, Aster.

Buddy and Aster were so cute when they were little, Daisy thinks. How can they be twelve already?

Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 86, Part 2

Aster has an active "go to college" want, which means it's time to deal with her homework, including that old elementary homework she left on her bedroom floor.

Buddy has a college want too, but he also has a want for the Creativity scholarship. He's currently on 7 creativity points, so painting it is.

Hugh and Daisy christened the new hot tub.

Aster: You should get out more and make new friends!

Buddy: No thanks. I see enough people at school. When I'm at home, I just want to chill.

Meanwhile, Buddy and Aster had a quiet evening at home, skilling, mostly.

Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 86, Part 1

Daisy: Wanna go out for dinner? I reckon the twins are old enough to leave for a couple of hours.

Hugh: Sure, but you'll have to get dressed first...

Hugh: Happy anniversary, darling.

Daisy: I thought you'd forgotten!

Hugh: Twenty years of marriage? Who could forget that?

Hugh: So Clover was explaining that Ellie and Sadie are girlfriends but they also date her... sounds complicated to me.

Daisy: No more complicated than what you and Cliff have going on, I think. So long as everyone's happy - and it sounds like they are.

Ooh, are you two talking about getting a pet? What would suit? A cat, maybe?

Daisy: Take me home?

Date time for Daisy and Hugh.

Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 85, Part 2

Daisy: I still don't feel old enough to have a child in college.

JoAnn: I know - it's crazy. Our little twins will be going in a couple more years, too. Rainbow's the only one with littlies still at home - did you hear they're going to adopt a little girl?

Reuben Cooke-Land, why aren't you in school?

I'm not sure that's going to help Daisy sleep just the other side of that door, JoAnn!

Aster: Spaghettios are ready!

Buddy: I don't think Mum and Dad really think we're old enough to go into Riverford by ourselves, but we totally are!

Daisy had a fear of being enemies with JoAnn, so she called her to get lunch together. I guess that fear really represented a fear of not being as close friends with her anymore - their relationship was about 75/75.

Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 85, Part 1

Buddy got an easel for his birthday, since he's too big for the activity table now.

Aster got a room makeover, including a new chair in the bay window (it turned out the corner sofa on an angle wasn't usable).

Aster's newest skill she and her new Knowledge aspiration want to work on is cooking, so she made breakfast.

Buddy: Do you think Dad feels left out being the only one in the family without a flower name?

Hugh tends to the garden before work. What was Clover thinking, planting a garden just before she went off to college?

Everyone was tired after Buddy and Aster's birthday party last rotation, so it was early bedtimes all round. In the morning, Hugh and the twins headed off to work and school, leaving Daisy home alone.

Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 84, Part 2

I think Clover might have put this garden in before she went to college.

Promotion!

And now they have the money for that hot tub Daisy's been wanting.

It's party time!

Daisy: Clover! How's college treating you?

Clover: It's great! I love everything about it!

In the morning, Hugh and the twins went off to work and school, and Daisy pottered around until Hugh got home and it was time for call for Buddy and Aster's birthday party.

Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 84, Part 1

Aster: I can't wait for middle school! We'll get to meet new people and learn new things.

Buddy: I'd be okay with not doing that!

I so wanted Hugh to get abducted here! Alas, t'was not to be. I'm pretty sure Aster's glad - she's just got her room to herself, and if Hugh ended up with an alien baby either she'd have to share, or she'd have to switch rooms with Buddy so he could share with the baby.

I'll give Aster's room a bit of a makeover after she turns teen, but right now she's enjoying the ballet bar.

Buddy's not looking forward to being too big for the activity table. Maybe he needs an easel.

It turns out the ballet bar, far from improving Aster's fun bar, was actually draining it further! So red hands with Daddy it is!

Daisy: That giraffe is not staying there.

Hugh: But it's cute!

Daisy: It's creepy! I don't want it staring at me!

Hugh: But it was a present from Cliff.

Daisy: I know. But it can go on the couch, or something.

Yep, we're definitely moving that giraffe!!

This place seems quiet without Clover, but perhaps not for long - the twins grow to teen tomorrow.

Hugh & Daisy Knowe, Day 83, Part 4

It’s the twins’ birthday tomorrow, and I think I’ve sorted their aspirations - Knowledge for Aster and Popularity for Buddy. Or maybe Buddy should be Pleasure... or maybe have one as a primary and the other as secondary from the start.
