I have been in LOVE with MMU since I was like,, 8 or 9, I think it was probably my first special interest. I wrote and presented a big book report in year 6 on the first novel (that my mum got sick of hearing and now audibly groans whenever I mention the book), and now I'm in YEAR 12 rereading all of them, and falling back in love with all the characters again. I remember when I was 11 or 10, finding a hardback signed copy of the first novel in Waterstones and genuinely on my knees BEGGING my uncle to buy it for me. I now I have 3 copies of the same book. LMAO; anyway, MMU really influenced me as a person, I see myself a lot in characters like Sherlock Holmes, but to see that type of character portrayed as a young British girl that was around my age really helped me boost my confidence and ive really looked up to Stevens for writing that!

Aside from personal yapping, I drew this with Prisma colour pencils traditionally first, then rendered it digitally on Ibis paint using my favorite brush Round Brush (Real) ♥︎ it took me an embarrassingly long time to finish this, but I guess thats what college will do for you. Order goes : Daisy→Hazel then bottom two is obviously George→Alexander :).

Happy Birthday Daisy, love of my life!! I'm so excited to be celebrating your birthday for the second time, though I wish I found this series sooner. You really helped me discover myself, and taught me what it means to live my life to the fullest even if it means sacrificing my own safety for it (lol). Since the very first time I read MMU, I have been drawn to you, and it helped me accept myself just a little bit more, especially since I've been dealing with depression for over 3 years now. I am in love with your character, your personality, your character flaws, and how much it resonates with me. I am in love with the fact that you know how to accept your sexual orientation as a fellow lesbian even if you cannot accept yourself fully at times. I am in love with everything about you and every time I think about you I can feel myself smile just a little more than usual. I miss you, I miss reading the books, and I miss thinking about you even if it's what I'm doing right now.

Thank you for saving me from suicide, Robin. And once again, happy birthday Daisy. <3
