Everyday is Earth Day 🌱
I meant to post this on Earth Day to talk about veganism but I went on a rant about my own experience of my transition/ journey to share and it took too long. I’ll post that one in the future so I want to list documentaries I’ve watched and really enjoyed of how well done it is and hopefully by me sharing this it will raise awareness of what goes on in our planet, our home. This list has no particular order in what to watch.
1. Earthlings (2005)
This can be currently found on YouTube and it is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, a vegan king, I have to say that this movie is really hard to watch in the beginning but it is so worth finishing it till the end
2. The Biggest Little Farm (2018)
This is super cute to watch, it can be currently found on Hulu and it will literally make you want to start a farm of your own. I heard that it can be found on Netflix in Canada
3. The Game Changers (2018)
I saw this one on Netflix and I liked how it showed athletes who are vegans and how eating meat to get big is just a myth because you can get it from plants too and that reminds me of two of my favorite fitness girls, Katya Elise Henry and Daisy B Querrero. My dad watched it with me and was inspired to try a plant based diet for a week to try.
4. Racing Extinction (2015)
This can be currently found on YouTube and it’s really sad how there’s species around the world being extinct due to us humans. Very touching to watch.
5. What The Health (2017)
I showed this movie to my sisters when it was on Netflix, not sure if it’s still on there, but it made them try out being vegan for a month that year. Now one of my sisters has been a vegetarian for over a year.
6. Fed Up (2014)
I saw this in my anatomy class during senior year and it’s cool how it shows 3 cases (I think) of real life kids.
7. The Cove (2009)
This one is for the dolphins, Ric O'Barry is just amazing
8. Blackfish (2013)
This one is a popular one, just watch it on Netflix if you haven’t already
9. Tapped (2009)
You’d be surprised when you drink from bottled waters and it’s currently found on YouTube
I will be writing more so I’ll keep editing and posting with other documentaries I’ve watched. Not making anyone to become vegans but to watch these movies with an open mind and make your own choice from there if you do decide to transition or not. Or make a compassionate choice like how Paul McCartney said. To me being vegan isn’t just a diet it’s literally a lifestyle choice. It’s what you eat, wear like makeup/clothes/shoes, and this is one of those topics I love talking about so I can’t wait to share more! I know the word vegan has a lot of stigma so i prefer to call it a plant based lifestyle xx
