Daisy
we need more country girl characters
Ngl, I really hated her back when I first read abt her in the books due to that weird thing she had going on with Cloudtail, along with her attitude towards clan life. But after reading her novella I honestly love her now??? It’s been a while now, so I can’t even say why it changed my opinion, but I still think shes absolutely goated.
Design Notes:
- Just realized as I’m posting this that I didn’t make her a design based of her name…. Yk it’s fine, I have an alt design I drew rq that I’ll post at the end (it also makes Hazeltail & eventually Rosepetal make sense)
- That lil mishap aside, shes honestly just how I envision her in my head when I read the books. Her ribbon comes from the twolegplace, as I like to imagine that she spent more time in the house with her twolegs rather than at the barn with Smoky. I’ll delve into that below.
Headcannons:
• I like to think that Daisy lived more with the twolegs than in the barn, and would only go outside every once in a while; such as to enjoy the nice weather, or okay in the snow. I like to think that one day Smoky visited her by the window, and convinced her to move into the barn more permanently. She’d still visit the house and get the best of both worlds, but she’d sleep in the barn with Smoky for example.
• Might delve into this is Smoky’s post, but I think that he may have been polyamorous? It would explain why he had two mates at once, and neither Daisy nor Floss minded eachother. Lowk though? I don’t know much about polyamory, so I apologize in advance if I mess up Smoky/ misrepresent what polyamory actually is.
• Daisy wasn’t necessarily weak, but she wasn’t necessarily the strongest either. She’s aware of the fact that she probably wouldn’t last more than a moon in the wild, so she goes to the place that she believes is the safest and comfortable for both her and the kits. Shes content to stay in then barn, then she flees for the safety of her kits, then she flees back to the barn again for the safety of her kits.
• Something that catches my eye however, is that she tends to puts her kits above herself every chance she’d get, and cares plenty for their wants even when it contrasts with her own. Because despite the fact she was content to stay in the farm, she went back to the clans yet again because the kits really loved it there.
• Why Daisy fell for Spiderleg is a mystery not even ThunderClan knows. My guess is that Spiderleg was a black tom with a mysterious aura, and had the best banter once you warmed up to him. Or maybe Spiderleg just liked single moms, who knows? Either way Daisy liked him but broke up with him due to his incompetence with their kits, and ultimately moved on and made peace with being single.
• Along with Ferncloud back when she was alive, Daisy’s role didn’t only involve caring and watching over kits, but the same also applied to the clan. Her main thing is just listening to a cats struggles while purring and licking the top of their head in silence. Her reason for it is because her desire to be a mother didn’t fade, and she didn’t have a desire to get another mate to have kits. Ntm that as of the CS arc, shes among the oldest cat there, so she simply decided to ‘adopt’ the entire clan as her own.
• Ever since her 2nd last surviving kits died, Daisy felt a little hollow on the inside. She mostly manages her grief by caring for the clan, but when she really can’t handle it she seeks out Mousewhisker. Together, they kind just sit and reflect on the good times, before sitting in silence for a few minutes before falling asleep together.
• She and Ferncloud were also the best of friends, and they picked up a lot of habits and advice from eachother. Mainly Fern putting flowers in her pelt & around the nursery, and Daisy collecting pretty trinkets for the kits and clan. Daisy was devastated when Fern died, and she planted ferns of variant sizes around the nursery as a reminder.
• idk man shes just a guy, just chilling in the clan doing her own thing.

"I am no warrior, but I am a ThunderClan cat. I stay in the nursery rather than hunt and fight because that is what I do best. I care for our young as though they were my own. This is my gift to the Clan, but I do it in my own chosen name."
— Daisy deciding to keep her own name at her warrior ceremony in Dark River, page 87
Mother, and son.
[Image Description: Two images, drawings of both cats named ‘Coriander’ from Warrior Cats. The first image depicts Coriander from Bramblestar’s Storm, a calico cat with red patches and black spotting along her face, legs and torso. She has a thin red tail with a black and white tip. She has long ears, white ear tufts, and yellow eyes. She is lying down, and smiling slightly.
The second image is her son, who was born in the book Daisy’s Kin. He is a young pale grey cat with a dark grey tail, hindquarters, forepaws, and upper face. He has white freckles on his cheeks, back, and legs. He has white ear tufts, a pink nose, and light blue eyes. He is grinning at something ahead of him. End ID.]
