good news

my psoriasis is almost gone! this means i can confidently show my legs for the first time in 2 years! mainly thanks to daily exercise and diet but also a bit of phototherapy and daivobet. my current plan is to keep exercising regularly, plan a juice fast followed by a proper plant-based diet and focus on externally treating my scalp and nails because they have been neglected. if you have any nail tips, please share! i seriously recommend you all to watch 'fat, sick and nearly dead'. if you've already seen it, see it again. it's incredible x

Hi! I've been having scalp psoriasis for the last six years. I've been through thousands of different treatments, oils and creams but nothing really seemed to work. In the last year the psoriasis has expanded to the rest of my body, and I've realized that the disease is almost exclusively psychological, and that I would've gotten better if I had stopped worrying, stressing and had positive attitude. Do you have the similar problems, and if, how do you deal with them?

Hey! I know exactly how you feel - just remember that you still have the same chance of getting better, even if it has gotten worse. This increase may even motivate you to try new things and find new ways to heal yourself. Don't ever forget that you're in control of your body. It may seem like psoriasis is an enemy inside you with a mind of its own but it's only like that if you let it be.

I've struggled with psoriasis on my scalp too. It's a bitch to treat and everything either makes your hair greasy or smell. I often ignore it because I can't see it which doesn't help the situation.  The best treatment I have come across is vigorously applying daivobet gel or sunflower oil overnight and then washing it with tgel shampoo by neutrogena. I would definitely recommend you try some kind of natural oil - I thought my hair would stay greasy even after I washed it but it was actually softer and felt more like a hair mask. This is however just an external way of fixing it so it will probably keep coming back unless you change something internally. I completely agree that stress and worry affects psoriasis. After a traumatic and stressful experience, I noticed little spots appear and from then on, i had it. A doctor once told me this and it's the best way for me to understand what's happening: psoriasis is like a fire and the main triggers eg. stress, diet add fuel to that fire. So imagine how big your fire is and how you're keeping it alive with your lifestyle.Based on some short but amazing success I had in January, I can assure you that psoriasis can literally vanish overnight if you take control of that fire and fight it every way you can - internally and externally. I've posted my daily routine which works for me. Cardio exercise eg. running helps with stress. Your positive attitude will come as soon as you see the smallest result and this will help you overcome it. Don't let psoriasis get you down, just stay focused on gaining control. The amount of effort you put in really does show. Sorry for the long essay! I hope this helps x

i have tried hundreds of ointments/creams. daivobet works wonders with the help of glad wrap. it's a clear, oily kind of gel and it's odourless. sooooo much better than smelly brown tar creams. ask your gp/dermatologist if it's appropriate for you - you'll need a prescription.

apply daivobet before bed

wrap area in glad wrap - a little uncomfortable but makes a big difference

wear old and tight but comfortable clothing that will cover all areas and bind it eg. long sleeve tops or leggings

sleep - the longer the daivobet stays on, the better the result

wake up & shower (hot showers are bad for psoriasis)

Agh my psoriasis is totally and completely driving me crazy. Going to europe in winter for a month, and then straight back to australia in the middle of crazy heat waves is making my skin break out worse than ever before. I have it all over my legs, arms, stomach, back, scalp and hips. Thank god it isn't on my face anymore, for the first time in ages. Appointment with a new dermatologist on thursday to hopefully talk about starting phototherapy, seriously can not wait. I'm so over this, even daivobet isn't working right now. Starting a new diet and no alcohol starting tomorrow too, hopefully there's some improvement soon!
