Wasn't the question about how different Sam was from his characters sexually and emotionally? That can mean different things than Sam's "sexual orientation"? Dale was sneaking around and soliciting sex workers by season 3 of TNR, Lestat is traumatised and has sex to distract himself and forget his past. Couldn't it be read as that?
Like bo said he is also sidestepping the question without confirming anything about his identity.
Yup. The question seemed to me to be about how different he was from his characters. Instead, he interpreted the question as comparing the two characters.
The more I think back on the past few weeks, the more I feel that KW and co. may have succeeded in what they set out to achieve with the joint interview, at least in a way. We'll see how it all ends, but there's not much to celebrate given how TNR ends.
Helen, wherever—and whoever—you are, give us a sign.
I think we have spoken about this over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, but it bears repeating because people keep forgetting how the show ended when KW was predictably focused on herself and what she could get out of it: when it was all said and done, they ultimately decided to send Dale off to Berlin to find his way to acceptance, rather than try to make something that ultimately wasn’t his true self work. I am confident now that was exactly the way the show should have gone.
But, there are many audience members who aren’t as confident in that type of HEA so I agree that it would’ve been nice if Helen were to confirm she too, felt good about the outcome.
We should all relax and watch something else. Have you seen Lambs of God? Get some popcorn for it. It’s really a good show!
