Dale is the type of father to say this kind of stuff to Dev. He'd make Dev feel indebted to him for his (Dale's) choice to have him, for taking up so much of his energy and time while in utero. "I spent so much time being sick because you were such a hassle as a fetus," or "it was hell being pregnant with you; be grateful I didn't get that abortion." Stuff like that.

Dale's exaggerating about the labor thing by the way. He had the world's easiest labor and delivery. He was in labor for 12 hours maximum and he barely felt anything. Bro just wants to complain.
