Julia Adams - Som jag
A song for the remembering the good times, Julia Adams of Gothenburg indie-pop outfit Little Marbles recently put out her latest video for “Som jag” or “like me” in Swedish. With its plunking hip-hop clap and Adam’s sweet but squeaky vocals, “Som Jag” explores Julia’s New York vacation but as more as a local than as a tourist as she drinks milk from the jug and grabs Chinese food. Explaining the song and its subsequent video Adams had this to say;
“’Som jag’ is about when my best friend and I went on vacation to New York a few years ago. We drank cappuccino and went tacky clothing stores, like that we always used to do - but it didn’t feel the same this time. We did not have fun like we always had, we went home and said goodbye at the airport. It was the beginning of the end of our friendship, and now we share nothing, after sharing nearly everything in our 7 years together, us against the world. Everything has its time and everything has a meaning, and I am glad that our last trip was captured in a nice song.”
It’s a wonderfully-captured video of Adams in New York, with crisp captures and the city with all its nitty-gritty. You can check out the video below along with a rework by Yemi and Daltone.
