As OG as MC Ren, Akai Pro’s new(ish) MPC Renaissance is both a nod to the past, but embraces the future with open arms at the same time.
Akai Professional has been a pivotal brand in the world of hip-hop since the beginning. Classic MPC’s such as the MPC60, the 3000 and 2000 were (and continue to be) the tool of choice for some of hip-hop’s most prolific and revered beatmakers of all time. Dilla, Premier, Pete Rock, Just Blaze, Dre, Kanye – it’s a veritable who’s who of super-producers.
Whilst staying true to their roots, the all-new MPC Studio and Renaissance have stepped away from the “in the box” mentality to take advantage of the power of modern computers. No longer are you limited to 128MB of RAM (or less), storing samples on disk or outdated components – the new MPC’s use your laptop or desktop computer to turn them into MPC’s on steroids. Same proven workflow, same signature timing, and in the case of the Ren (which has an onboard sound card), same classic MPC sound… but HEAPS more power and a lot more potential.
In Australia, artists such as Dazastah, Chasm, Amin Payne, Hazel, Daltron, Trials and Setsa have all stepped up to the new MPC’s, as have many other worldwide. And with the landmark MPC Software update v1.7 just around the corner, I’d imagine there will be lots more producers adding an MPC Studio or MPC Ren to their studios soon.

Hi :)
I read that message someone posted that you wrote and I just wanted to say, that suicide is not the answer. I understand a lot of what you're going through, more so then many others who follow you do, but you just gotta be strong. Although you may not think so, there are a lot of people who care about you and want to see the best of you, not for the nude stuff you do but for the real you. You seem like a kind of guy who people would fight to be friends with and if you have people that do care about you, your girlfriend, your little brother, then you gotta fight past these demons and keep going for them. I've had my share of bad days, and it's a struggle, trying to focus every day with all the Chaos and turmoil going on in your head, and it not easy, but I fight it every day and every day it gets harder, but for every day that I'm breathing, I know it's a day that I can live my life the way I want to and if need be, help someone else who is having a hard time. You're only a year or so older then I am, and you've got so much to offer this world. You just gotta hang in there and keep on fighting and when things get hard, whether it's with family, or friends, or battling schizophrenia from the car accident, you just gotta keep your head up and tell yourself that you're stronger then that. If I could pull through from all the things I went through growing up, I know you can too. So just saying if you ever need someone just to talk to, I made my tumbler account just for you ^_^
Sincerely,
Chris :)
