Now After Having Fun Playing...
MLB Effect: Damage Down [35%] (One / 3 Turns) & Defense Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
Damage Down will decrease the target’s damage on attacks. One of the perks of Damage Down is that the equipped character is not the only one to benefit from its effects as this is an effect applied to an enemy target-- meaning that it will protect the entire party from that enemy target. It can be considered worse than Attack Down.
Defense Up will increase the target’s base defense stats. It can be considered superior to the effect Damage Cut, as Defense Up’s effect calculations will be considered before any damage goes out, while Damage Cut’s calculations will be considered after.
TLDR: “Now After Having Fun Playing” is good for Magia Stall Strategies. It does have some flaws-- Damage Down isn’t as good an effect as Attack Down, it offers slightly less of a percentage when compared to other memoria, and the fact that it only targets one enemy is limiting. However, it’s still a good boon for Free-to-Play players and should be a decent source of protective active memoria worth keeping around. This is an event reward memoria for completing the event: “Moon Viewing Pajama Party.”
Review: “Now After Having Fun Playing” is pretty decent for a free event memoria. It will especially be helpful for Stall teams, or for players who don’t have access to some Whale-tier memoria. It does have some flaws, which we’ll go over, but for most Free-to-Play players and for some Dolphins, this is something you’ll definitely want to keep around.
First, let’s discuss Damage Down. Damage Down is not nearly as good an effect as Attack Down-- it doesn’t reduce as much damage the enemy can do with their attack. However, it can do at least something and perhaps that something is enough to protect your units. Next up, we have to consider how much Damage Down this memoria provides:
(Limited 4*) “For This Fine Day” Damage Down [45%] & Attack Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn)
(4*) “Reliable Negotiator” Damage Down [45%] (All / 1 Turn) & Status Ailment Resistance Up [55%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(3*) “Let's Eat Together” Damage Down [40%] (All / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “Now After Having Fun Playing...” Damage Down [35%] (One / 3 Turns) & Defense Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(2*) “Lovely Akira Room” Damage Down [30%] (One / 1 Turn)
There are several memoria in the game that provide more of the effect, but note that all of these memoria also only last for one turn. That means “Now After Having Fun Playing” is unique in that it provides less coverage for more turns. That means you might want to use memoria such as “For This Fine Day” to protect your team from one devastating attack, but use “Now After Having Fun Playing” for when you need to keep damage low over time.
Perhaps you’re fighting the One Hundred Evils and are struggling with several enemies-- you need to kill one enemy first (perhaps a healer, maybe they have Guardian or Taunt) but another enemy is hitting your team very hard. You can use “Now After Having Fun Playing” on the hard-hitter to protect your team while you deal with the other characters first. Or, maybe you need time to generate MP for a Magia/Doppel and use this memoria to keep your units alive.
It’s a little unfortunate that this memoria only applies to one target instead of all of the ones on the field, but it is what it is.
The second thing to note is that this memoria also provides Defense Up to the equipped target. The Defense Up is pretty standard when compared to other memoria:
(4*) “I Won't Stray From This Path” Defense Up [37.5%] & Attack Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(4*) “Survival Date on a Deserted Island” Defense Up [37.5%] & Anti-Debuff [2 Debuffs] & Attack Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(Limited 4*) “How About Delicious Chocolate?” Defense Up [30%] & Attack Up [25%] & Regenerate HP [6%] (Self / 3 turns)
(Limited 4*) “Mischievous Duo” Defense Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns) & HP Restore [30%] (Lowest HP Ally)
(Limited 4*) “Now After Having Fun Playing...” Defense Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns) & Damage Down [35%] (One / 3 Turns)
(2*) “Putting Sugar in Bitter Black Tea” Defense Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(Limited 4*) “Like This Since When” Defense Up [22.5%] & MP Gain Up [12.5%] (Self / 3 Turns)
Many memoria in the game give 30% Defense Up for three turns, so “Now After Having Fun Playing” isn’t like other free event memoria that give you less of an effect in that regard at least.
This makes the memoria very defensive, obviously. Not only will you protect your team, but you can provide extra protection for one character in particular. But who do you choose? If you’re using a tank, they might be the first choice you think of, but the long cooldown makes it less advisable. If you’re fielding a tank, they benefit more from Taunt/Guardian memoria that they can use often or memoria like “For My Treasured Ones” that provide on-demand heals and protection with a small cooldown.
Damage-Dealers can be a good choice, especially if they’re squishy, but it means forgoing a possible offensive memoria in exchange-- this may or may not be worth it for you. The best answer is probably a Support, especially one who has a passive Skill Quicken chance to make that cooldown slightly smaller. If your tank has a connect that gives Taunt, then using this memoria at the same time you use the connect is a good way to protect the connected character.
So overall? A decent boon for Free-to-Play players who want to use Magia Stall strategies. “Now After Having Fun Playing” does have some flaws that make it not as desirable, but it’s still pretty good and is a great addition to any Magia Stall player’s team.
