Chapter 12 of Damage x Control is up!

On Archive of Our Own: Chapter XII. Only Option Summary: Killua hasn’t lived at home for years, but he still goes with his family on their annual week long vacation. This year it takes place on his birthday, at his favorite location, and with his best friend. But it’s harder to keep Gon away from the still-buried realities of his past and complicated relationship with his family when they’re affronted by overbearing Brother Dearest and Fucky the Magician. Who keeps letting Hisoka come on these vacations every year, anyway? Pairings: Illukillu, Hisogon, Hisoillu, Killugon Rated: Mature

“…the nephew of the illustrious Mayor Zanzan was found dead in his beachside manor early this morning. Police are refusing to comment at this time, but reports say the 911 call made by the cleaning staff indicate a clear homicide. The twenty-seven year old was beloved by all; friends and neighbors say he had no enemies, and was planning to take his girlfriend on a trip to Yorknew City this weekend. His girlfriend was not available for comment. A candlelight memorial for the young Zanzan will be held this evening at 19:00 hours in town square. The community and its guests are encouraged to come together in this time of loss….”

“Could you turn that off? I’m not fully awake yet.”

“You failed to tell me it was the mayor’s nephew that you assassinated.”

“Does it matter?” Illumi ran a swab of iodine over the gash of missing skin that had relocated to underneath Hisoka’s nails before perching at his vanity to brush his hair. Hisoka clicked off the television; Illumi sighed at the reminder of his impulsivity. He had known that sniveling brat was the high-profile target he was before he removed his heart, but he hadn’t even considered stopping. It was disgracefully bad judgment.

“If you’d tell me all of the details, we could collaborate and have a better shot at cleaning this up without making a bigger mess first.”

Illumi put down his brush roughly and it clacked against the wood of the vanity. The nap hadn’t done enough, in Hisoka’s opinion, to lighten his high-strung disposition when it came to this topic. A bad sign for a Zoldyck to portray. “You shouldn’t know any details I do not. Collaboration is not—”

“Oh but it is. It is your only option ♥” Hisoka assured, coming up behind him to run few fingers through his detangled, soft hair. The Illumi in the mirror scowled back. “You’d might as well put that sour little face away and play a bit of quid pro quo with me. I’d hate for us to risk it all only for the carriage to turn back into a pumpkin at midnight.”

A lot has happened in recent months since I last updated.

I had to buy a new laptop because mine finally kicked the bucket, I had car trouble and then more car trouble, I had two sinus infections in three months, I was betrayed by every friend I had but one (my girlfriend) and I had a pet die!

On top of that, of course, I’m taking 16 credit hours, working part-time, and still holding down my Fiction Editor position at my literary magazine. I just finished my portfolio to be officially accepted into the creative writing major, and now I’m working on applying for a summer internship with a publication!

Whoo, boy. Lots has happened. 

To be entirely honest, I have considered deleting this page entirely. I’ve unfollowed a lot of HxH people (those of you who are following my main blog and I’m still following you, feel lucky!) because of how much I’ve been hurt by these friends that I had had for over seven years. I hate seeing posts with them involved, whoops.

But they are no more, and life moves on. It always does for those of us with ambitions. Friends or no friends.

But I’ve decided that, for now, I won’t delete. I don’t want to be defeated that easily, and I know Damage x Control is still gaining views, kudos, and fans. I don’t want that to end just because of a broken heart and a bit of isolation. I want to bounce back!

I’m hoping to get a new chapter up by the end of the month. This depends on how busy I get, of course, but the chapter is done. It’s been done, save for Hisoka’s quirks. But those will only take about an hour to sort out. I’ve just been crushed and soiled by this whole ex-friend situation, and it’s left me completely unmotivated and depressed. 

tldr; I’M GOING TO DO MY BEST TO GET A NEW CHAPTER UP BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH. I’VE BEEN BUSY WITH BOTH SCHOOL AND PAINFUL EVENTS, BUT I’M TRYING TO GET BACK ON MY FEET. (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑

Wow!! Okay I wasn’t expecting an answer to that little rambling of mine but I’m SO HAPPY you did!! I can’t think you enough for the continued support and love that you and everyone else has given me for DxC!!

Did you know DxC is the first fic that I’ve written in three years!!!?? I’m not sure if I’ve said that before, but there’s a little factoid for you as a reward for being so kind. I rarely get into series and things enough to compel me to write fanfics, but Hunter x Hunter stole my heart. And the other fans have been so wonderful!! ( ˘ ³˘)♥

Hi! I'm so glad I could read your new chapter ♡ I had a busy week, but your fic gave me life again, thanks! I was wondering If I could know what kind of relationship had Silva and Chrollo uhh~ it sounds a little fishy. Illumi seems too innocent to exist! His parents are unfair and he still doesn't understand it. Ugh! I would like to know why Illumi doesn't take his pants off when he is with Killua hmm... okay I love your story and you know it!! It's my drug haha thank you so much

I really appreciate the kind words!!!! 

Essentially all of Illumi’s oddities come from his rigid sense of duty and responsibility to his family. Of course he is attracted to Killua, but his sense of duty as the older brother tends to outweigh his own desires in the end. He’s a little too dutiful for his own good!!

I love to give people life in the form of my writing!! I hope your week has been a good kind of busy, and that you’re succeeding in all things you do! I appreciate hearing from you as always! (＾▽＾)
