Beverly kisses the back of her neck, then followers the heat of her mouth with her hands, rubbing along the tension in her spine. Her fingers are too good, as always.
"I was using that."
"The pain in your neck?"
"It was keeping me awake."
Beverly kisses her cheek, lingering. "I have better ways to keep you awake."Kathryn's fingers struggle with the PADD. She should just drop it, turn and kiss her, hard.
"What are you even working on?" Beverly asks, covering Kathryn's unsteady hand with her own. "Oh, very important, I see. The transit manifest of those medical supplies I wanted."
Fun fact about this episode: when the pre-episode...
I mean, I will admit that I was a little put out at first, but then I thought “he can celebrate twice, can’t he?” I mean, this side of the family isn’t exactly on speaking terms with Regina at the moment.
Then I realised it was all a dream, anyway, which is still a legitimate way to start an episode as long as it doesn’t last longer than a minute, I’d say.
“I thought someone abandoned this baby when i saw this stroller standing there with no parent in sight, so i took him home with me and now it turned out that was a little bit of a misunderstanding??” dq lmao
Oh my goodness, this one was so funny and sweet. Maleficent is just amazing with babies and I love her for it. This is an Enchanted Forest AU.
Also on AO3
Maleficent strolled through the woods, listening to thesoft singing of the birds. These were the days she longed for, peacefulserenity. She didn’t have anyone bothering her, there was no time for thatpesky fire breathing. Sometimes, being a queen of darkness could be exhausting.
Just as she reached the peak of the woods, she saw alone pram standing there. It was black with bits of blue lace surrounding it.Walking closer to it, she saw an adorable chubby baby inside. A knit beanie wasatop his head and he was surrounded by blankets. Maleficent looked around thewoods but saw no one.
“Well hello there, little one,” she cooed, strokinghis cheek. “Where is your mommy or daddy, hm? Why would they leave a poorlittle defenseless thing like you alone?”
The baby gurgled and a smile went across his face. Thesight alone lightened her heart and made her want to walk on air. She lovedbabies, as much as that would surprise most people. Looking around once more tosee his parents, she came up short again. There was no way she could just leavehim alone.
“Any parent that would leave you here clearly is unfit. Just as well, you cancome home with me.” She reached down into the pram and lifted him up, cuddlinghim close. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a namecrocheted onto one of the blankets. “Henry, what a lovely name. Come on, Henry.Let’s go home.”
Using her magic, Maleficent poofed them back to hercave. She was able to conjure up a bassinet, though she didn’t settle him downit. She also conjured up a rattle and waved it in front of his face, causinghim to giggle. The two of them played together in quiet serenity as she triedto plan how it would all work. He most likely did not have dragon magic, butshe could still teach him how to use some sorcery. They would make quite theteam…
“Hey, dragon bitch, put down my son.”
Maleficent’s head shot up to the entrance of the cave.“Regina,” she breathed.
Regina strolled into the cave, her hands on her hips. She did not look pleased, though as always she was looking irresistible toMaleficent. Her navy blue dress was cut just at her cleavage and her hair waspulled up into a tight bun.
“Henry is your son?” She asked. “I didn’t even knowthat you were pregnant.”
“If you must know, I wasn’t. Snow White and herCharming’s daughter got pregnant out of wedlock. She wanted to give the baby abetter life…”
“And she chose you?” Maleficent smirked.
Regina rolled her eyes. “It’s a family thing. My son, please.”
“Why should I give him to you? You’re the one thatleft him alone in the woods.”
“We were going for a walk and I thought I saw anenemy. I put a protection spell around the pram, how did you break through it.”
Maleficent paused. How did she get through that? She had heard of only two people everbeing able to do that. Blood…
And true love.
But it couldn’t be. Sure, Regina and her had a littlefun every now and again. Yet, true love…it couldn’t be…
“I don’t know,” Maleficent replied, finally. “I’msorry, I just saw him and didn’t want him to get hurt.”
Regina looked around and realized all she had beendoing to prepare for the little one. It would melt even the darkest of hearts. “Youtruly weren’t trying to hurt him, were you?”
Maleficent shrugged. “You of all people should knoweven the darkest villain is capable of loving children.”
“That I do.” She loved Henry with every fiber of her souland would do anything to protect him. It was clear that Maleficent would do thesame. “Look, perhaps you’d like to stop by some time…to my castle. For Henry’ssake, I mean he seems to like you.”
Maleficent smiled. “Yes, for Henry’s sake.”
It was only 5 monthsbefore they moved in together for good.
Over the course of three years, Beverly’s life twisted and turned in unexpected ways.
It started with the loss of Voyager and its captain, one Kathryn Janeway that was, quite simply, the love of Beverly’s life. Only months later, the Enterprise was destroyed, and Beverly’s level of self-loathing for not taking a position aboard Voyager increased. (How could she justify staying for the sake of the Enterprise, when only four months later, that very ship lay gutted and burned on an alien planet?) After that, on the newest Enterprise, she had the pleasure of actually witnessing first contact on Earth’s past, and even as she smiled, watching the Vulcan ship land, she thought about how much Kathryn would have loved to be there, or even to hear about it.
And then… then, the impossible happened.
Just over three years after Voyager was lost, after the crew had been declared dead, after the memorials and the condolences… Word spread of the most astounding thing.
Voyager has survived. The ship was lost, yes, but lost in space, rather than lost to existence.
If Beverly hadn’t been sitting when the news came (delivered by a smiling Picard as an ‘after-thought’ during a senior staff briefing), she would have been driven to her knees. She barely felt Deanna reaching out to her at what must have been the strongest wave of emotion she’d ever felt.
Relief, fear, love, despair, it all blasted through Beverly with the force of a warp core breach, and her head spun.

"there's a snake in my boot" + I can't remember what things you ship I apologise but pick the 3rd alphabetically
Now I have this horrible mental image of Robin and Regina two-stepping in a country line dancing club to a bad country song called Snake In My Boot, so THANKS FOR THAT. Also, I’m behind on OUAT, so this is written based solely on gifsets.
As much as Robin was thrown by Storybrooke, it didn’t compare to how thrown Regina was by this new wish realm. It looked like home, it smelled like home, it felt like home.
Right up until Regina rolled off the bed of hay and reached for her clothes. She skipped the jeweled dress and the detailed corset in favor of Robin’s shirt and spare leather breeches, but when she pulled her boots to the side of the bed, she screamed in a way that even a three-year-old Henry would have found humiliating.
A snake. There was a snake in her boot.
It hit a little too close to home, and Regina clutched at her neck, still feeling the ghost weight of a heavy metal band.
Snakes. Agrabahn vipers waiting to sink their fangs into her. She scooted back into the bed, wrapping herself around Robin as he slowly woke up.
“Snake,” she said, gesturing madly at the clothing and shoes crumpled on the floor of the tent.
He didn’t even bother to respond; he just grabbed her boots and shook them. When the snake hit the soft dirt floor of his tent, he nudged it away with his bare foot.
“Gone now,” he replied. “Off to have better adventures.” He laced his fingers through hers and tugged her back down on the bed of hay and dirt. “If it really bothers you, milady, maybe you’ll keep your boots off? I certainly wouldn’t mind.”
I would like to start a bet to predict in which chapter of breaking in Sidney will murder someone and scar Regina for life. I'm betting 45. We can pool the money from the losers and give it to you so you can take a holiday somewhere sunny.
I think this sounds like a fine plan!
Anyone else (who doesn’t already know the plot) want to wager a guess? What do you think will happen and when? lol
