Some photos I’ve managed to take in the last week. The top is an orchard spider residing in my yard in good old JC (NJ) and the bottom photo is a wild flower called Dame’s Rocket across the road from my sisters house in PA.

The spider isn’t the clearest but I do love the composition and the way its environment turned out, so I went with it.

In this border the white flowers of the biennial, or short-lived perennial, Hesperis matronalis (dame's rocket, damask-violet, dame's violet, dames wort, dame's gilliflower, garden rocket, night rocket, sweet rocket, white rocket) was scenting the air and brightening the border. This plant is a member of the mustard family, Brassicaceae, and requires a fertile, moist but well-drained neutral or alkaline soil in sun or semi-shade, ideal for the edge of a woodland border.
