Tea Cereomny- Dam Hoi 12th March 2022
After being engaged so long and few set back with covid, Matt and I were finally able to host our tea ceremony. Tea ceremony is a traditional Vietnamese pre wedding event where you invite your closest families and friends.
Traditionally, this event is taken the parents house but due to covid we hired a reception instead. We hired a MC , Jak Nguyen, to host our event. He did an amazing job he was able to provide context and history of even to Matt’s family who were not familiar with the tradition.
Our version was a modern take. It started with drinks.cocktails and Vietnamese canapes. We held it at White Stone, the venue was very nicely decorated. We did not have to spend too much on decor. We did have to hire the Vietnamese altar decor. After an hour of canapes, we had the ceremony.
My mother walked me out after the bridal party went out with the traditional trays. The ceremony went for 30 minutes. After that buffet lunch and dessert was serviced. We took
After ceremony, a few friends went to the Imperial Rooftop for drinks. It was really nice to sit back and relax. I was really happy how it all looked and turned out. The one down side was that my brother and his family caught covid and were unable to attend. We did capture a lot of it on camera.
